We were recommended this restaurant by the local butcher after finding our 2 chosen places closed the night we went. We weren't disappointed. We chose off the 23.50 euro menu and had salmon ravioli for starters, both very good. The moules & frites were very good and the cod in chive cream sauce, fresh vegetables and baby roasted potatoes was excellent. Puddings were really good, a crème brulee and ice cream sundae with salted caramel. House wines were good and bill was 67 euros. Perfect. If you want dinner it may be as well to call in at lunchtime and book.

Maybe, we've been just lucky, for the reviews about this place are rather mixed. But we wanted to sit outside but not in a crowd plus we looked for a restaurant with regional cooking and so we decided for this place. Good choice, for we thoroughly enjoyed being here on a warm late summer evening. My husband had a plat fruits de mer, I myself dived into a pot full of mussels with cream and salicorne. I suspected it would be an extremely good combination, but I was too curious about the salicorne. To my astonishment the result was convincing. My husband enjoyed his seafood platter and we both liked the relaxed though attentive service.

We ate dinner here last night and had moules frites. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, our waitress very friendly and the restaurant decor is delightful. Our whole bill came to approx €40 for 2 people, we had 2 courses and house wine - great value I think. We will eat here on our next visit to St Valery - I would recommend this restaurant.

Visited during a family holiday in August 2013. The entire meal was practically inedible, very poor quality and poorly cooked. Got the impression that they cater mainly for tourists, dishing them up poor quality food for high prices. Shame.

in an ideal world I would give this place a mark between very good and average, I think Tripadvisor could do with a more nuanced marking system. I'm quite surprised at the number of poor reviews this gets though, the food was a little seventies looking and the décor was nothing amazing, but this is hardly unusual in France. We liked our food enough to come back again, there may well be better restaurants in st valery, but this was fine.

Me and a group of friends visited Saint Valery Sur Somme in July 2013 and were so impressed at the food at L'Ecume Bleue that we returned twice! The food was brilliant, (sea food of course) and it was so fresh and reasonably priced. Its rare to find english speakers in Saint Valery so it was hard to figure out what we were ordering but our waitress Katherine tried her best both nights we visited and together we collectively translated the menu into english which she proudly brought out to us on the second night. The service was friendly, the food and wine was great - what more could you want. This restaurant should be rated 5 stars
