A wonderful friendly greeting from Owner/Chef Luigi started an excellent night's wining and dining in this fabulous 'Bistrot/Restaurant'. The service was excellent; the food delightful and all very reasonably priced.Luigi regularly came to our table to check that we were OK despite the restaurant being very busy - we met his lovely wife whom was also performing as a waitress. We later learned that Luigi is a former Italian Shot Put Champion from Geoff Cape's era - Sports' Loss is Dining's Gain. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next night for more! Loved it!!!
Thank-you Luigi and team for some stunning simple pasta dishes with great service..Chef came out to say hello and welcome which was a lovely touch. Everyone enjoyed their meals and it was agreed it was nice to be out of the tourist trap and eat in a relaxed convivial atmosphere. As the the title says, see you next time! Merci beaucoup!
After weeks on the road as a tourist you yearn for some home cooked food that is simple and tasty. This is the place and Luigi was there to cook and say hello!!The Italian salad starters were great and my Pasta with fresh Italian ham was perfect!My wife had the Milanese Veal and was also happy!!
What a great find this is a small restaurant slightly away from the canal and we did have to wait for a table but popularity is always a good sign. The staff are great both helpful and friendly and the chef came and sat with us and made the lunch a real occasion. The food and wine were excellent and had a really authentic Italian style. I totally recommend you eat here and we will certainly be going back next time we are in Sete.
Booked yesterday because of the TripAdvisor reviews . Friendly welcome. Great service and explanations and recommendations. Amazing salad starter freshly prepared with 'real' charcuterie and 'real' veg and salad. Had the linguine with squid and veg, huge plate then the owner comes to welcome you and tell us he is friends with Jeff Capes.... drank Italian Rosé which was a lovely change , polished off with café gourmands and limoncello. Highly recommend, because not your usual tourist trap Resto. Definately will go back with friends.
We arrived at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon and were worried we we too late. We shouldn't have worried as we were welcomed warmly. We both picked the special, mushroom ravioli in a tomato sauce. This sounds like pretty standard fare. When it arrived, we instantly realised otherwise. It was fabulous, unlike anything we had before, a real taste sensation. As were finishing Luigi came out to check we were enjoying the food. He said that we could eat there 50 time and the sauce would never be the same as he mixed quantities based on how he was feeling that day. We are not sure we can make it back that number of times, but we are definitely going back.
