After we made the scenic hr bike tour along the lake of annecy and a bit beyond to finally get into faverges, we shot for an interesting restaurant and were so lucky to only accidentally discover L’Orielle d’Ours! (not shown on many maps and out of...a reason not listed in the list of places in faverges). Although there is a limited menu, exactly what you should expect from a small, real French restaurant, there were the choices, including vegetarian (and close to veg and not throughout the animal world) and local haute savoie, some reasonable wine choices (including a pichet of excellent whatever local). our tellers were full of a beautiful selection of delicious items (I had a wonderful spinat / goat cheese tart). the other occupied tables seemed to enjoy also very much what they had chosen. if we break our usual habit of the obstention, we decided to pour in a piece of madame chocolate cake with forks to share it – wow! that was super-value the trip all by itself! we asked if she had a guestbook, and actually has it. of them. so, believe the other good reviews and ignore the others (the incidents occur), this is a destination worth every effort required! choose something from the day menu and prepare yourself for a delicious French, German, Spanish and English to different spoken grade. menu in fr.

we loved this place madame seemed a little intimidating at first, but was friendly at the end we were even offered a plant cutting to bring home! the menu is limited, but we enjoyed our choices (not andouillette and it was interesting to round...the different artifacts on the display.

we went here during a short stay in faverges, the first was so pleasant that we wanted to return the next night. there is no great selection of restaurants in the city, but this one looked inviting. the renter was initially a...bit cold to us when we arrived without reservation, but soon warmed us when our try fell apart in French slowly. the food was good, and the right French cuisine, so we expected we to introduce new aromen and were not disappointed. the fish bread was a new one on me, and it's been forever since I've eaten the delicious. below was that the choice is quite limited, and the menu does not change that often. on the side was however the most beautiful host was conceivable. we enjoyed their company, bought them some after dinner drinks, and were treated with a few in the suit, including the chef’s grandmother’s year old calvados what a leak!
