I've never been angered before by a language issue in a restaurant but I find it downright rude of the owners/managers to act as though this establishment was somewhere in Britain rather than in the French Alps. Even if the restaurant is attached to a hotel that seems to cater largely to a British clientele I find it outrageous to just ignore the language of the country you are in and hire staff who speak only English. Surely it can't be that hard to hire people in France who can speak French? And from some of the other comments I've read in French this has upset a number of other clients. My husband is French and has been coming to Tignes for 50 years and he'd never been to a restaurant where he couldn't understand what was being said to him. This summer the restaurant only served food in the evenings and we noticed that it was frequently nearly empty. Perhaps this is because even on the noticeboard outside everything is in English so the locals have no idea what's on offer! And that's a shame because the food was actually quite tasty. However, the poor English waiter was well-meaning but very disorganised (goodness knows what would have happened had the restaurant been full) and after a long wait once he'd cleared our first course plates we had to ask him if there were any deserts. He rattled off the names of them so fast that even a native English speaker had trouble understanding and my husband was left completely flummoxed. I'm certain very few non-British people have the tiniest clue as to what an Eton Mess is!! The deserts looked nice but we found they were far too sugary. We then had to wait ages for anyone to bring us the bill. Also, if management insists that the cook (the kitchen is "open") has to hide his hair under a hygiene cap, dont they worry aboutt his long, unkempt beard? This restaurant is just next door to our flat but until it hires professional staff who speak the language of the country they're working in we won't be going there again.

We were hoping for some really good food but sadly we picked a night when they were low on ingredients. Starters were nice, spring rolls and chicken with light salads. Our vegetable skewers were disappointing, the mixed grill was good but rather salty. Service was friendly, hoping this places improves with age.

Run by a Swedish company, the menu, service and quality is a cut above the rest in Tignes. We ate there twice, joining friends who were staying there. Our party of 4 adults and 4 children enjoyed a wide range of choice. Some had the set menu on occasions ( delicious soups, salmon one night, duck the second, fantastic desert concoctions!) whilst the kids ate off the menu choosing pizza, mixed grill and ribs - all delicious and tested by the adults!! The service and ambience were delightful; the staff were friendly, informative and so very helpful. Seems unique amongst the other dining options in Val Claret and Tignes. They have 2 sittings at 18.30 and 20.30; do book ahead. Will return and highly recommend.

Didn't stay here but dined twice in the restaurant this week for dinner.Simple food prepared superbly. Friendly, attentive staff made it a very pleasant experience. Prices are reasonable for Tignes and the standard of food.Saw no evidence of the negative feedback in earlier reviews-looks like they might have nailed those issues?
