I went here this afternoon with my aunt, because 'this restaurant had the best pizza ever!' in her opinion. The atmosphere was great, lovely place for those who want something casual.First we tried Arancini - a typical fast food in Sicilia which was a ball of fries rice with meat, tomate sauce, green peas, cooked egg and cheese inside. You can enjoy it with knife and fork, but it's okay with your hands also!After that, it's pizza time! Mine was a pizza with foie gras in Menu of the day which I never heard or tried before. 'Perfect match for all the ingredients' - that was all I could think after the first bite, foie gras, mushroom sauce, cepes (the name of the mushroom), tomatoes confit, chorizo, rockets and balsamique. All made it so special, good but a little rich as well.The one my aunt tried name Isabella with tomatoes, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, eggplants, goat's cheese and oregano. Classic but not bad at all!I rated 5/5 not only for the food but also the friendliness of all the staffs in here. It will be great if you can speak good French to discuss about Sicilia with the waitress, but if not, just enjoy the meal!
Il y a beaucoup de pizzarias en Valras mais il Catalane est le plus bonne. Le pizza gourmande sons superb avec les pieces "sortie du four". Les patrons sont charmant.There are lots of pizzarias in Valras but this is the Best. The pizza "Gourmande" with bits added after cooking are superb, a pizza that is more than a snack. The owners are charming.
If you want pizza, this is great. But do yourself a favor and do not order anything else! The macaroni you cook at home for your 5 year old are better than any food you will have here. Even the special plate of the day was a complete joke, I thought they were kidding! On my way out I noticed that they have all these dishes even pre-cooked and just warm it up. As the french reviewr said 2 years ago: just get the pizza only!
Our friends from Paris, took us to this restaurant that we did not noticed at first as it is just behind the sea front but hidden .Excellent surprise, we were warmly welcomed by the owner and seated in a very nice quiet location.Everyone said it was the best ever here in Valras.Our main courses were well prepared nice and hot we tasted the arrancini, the polpette,real typical Sicilian Foods,incredible pizzas. The owner recommended a nice bottle of wine which was an excellent choice for our meals. We did enjoy the dessert, wonderful Tiramisu.A very enjoyable visit topped with excellent food and ambiance.
