Truly awful. Lovely setting, and a nice space, but we quickly realised we were not in for a gourmand treat! We therefore ordered the pierrade, but even this turned out to be a msitake. Raw chicken with salad on it on the plate? Really? In this day and age? Surely we all know that raw chicken should be nowhere near anything else we are going to eat without cooking it? Poor produce, not enough staff for the space. Bad, bad bad.
Delicious! Definitely worth stopping here if you have the opportunity.My poultry dish was less cooked than I would normally eat, so I spoke to the waitress who took it back to chef. I was worried I might have offended somebody- it being a very French restaurant. My dish was returned to me, perfectly presented as the first time, with "oops sorry " written on the plate in food colouring! Such a lovely touch, it made me feel completely at ease and I carried on enjoying the rest of my meal.Pudding was also superb Thank you La Cabane!
We were staying 50m away from this restaurant and had seen it was No.2 on TA for restaurants in Vars. We went twice purely because we didn't have a great meal on our first visit and wanted to give it a second chance. On our first visit I felt the staff were a bit rush rush and they seemed to be more attentive towards the regulars. We ordered the soup to start which was very nice.
