"After the host's death, his wife takes over the shops in the traditional house. No option light was not the last months. Cornelia Müller looks a little tired when she talks about it. Lunch at Thonberger Gasthof has not yet begun. It's still time for a chat with the host. The Maik Schäfer from Gersdorf works in the kitchen. Service Power Andrea Weidner just writes the lunch subscription to the big table on the street. Kohlroulade is here today. Freshly prepared. Everything is as always... In September the host of the house died. He was known to all in Kamenzer Land as “Thon-Schänker”. At GDR times he stood behind the counter on the former disco hall. Later in the kitchen of his farm house. In the early 1990s he turned the hall into the pension. Create a small Gulasch cannon rich. In 2007, the traditional house celebrated its 100th anniversary. Birthday. Birthday. But Peter Müller's long-term illness overshadowed a lot. In the end, the family was completely stolen. Wife Cornelia worked on his side for 25 years. She knows the inn. As an employee, she has done all the tasks, the plants. Many stayed on their shoulders long before the man died in September 2015. Even if for a short time it looked like the S 100 farm would close between Kamenz and Panschwitz-Kuckau: it goes on! “Playing was never an option for me. Even if all the responsibility lies with me," says Cornelia Müller militant. Lentils and wild goulash The Christmas business was as planned. Sometimes the work against sadness and fear of the future also helps. After seven months, the doubts were resolved. Not only tribal studies are happy. The Thonberger Gasthof remained closed for a few weeks in January. Not unusual for the time after the New Year. “I had to order everything first. My life and my work. And register the business,” says the 54-year-old. Cornelien Müller took new courage. And she needs it too. The children support them, but they all live far away. A huge inn is waiting for her. She is well positioned with her two employees. “Our goal is to cook everything fresh. Good bourgeois cuisine and home kitchen are still in demand,” says the hostess. They support regional suppliers. If the host is not in the guest room, the office work is waiting for them as well as the use of the twelve rooms of the guest house. By the way, Monteure, foreign workers, also guests of family celebrations are very happy to sleep here. “I am particularly pleased that even more locals want to find the way to us and celebrate in the house,” says Cornelia Müller. The order situation currently looks good. The first steps into a calmer future are done. From the photo, the “Thon-Schänker” looks at the bottom of his guest room. What remains is the memory of good times. The shields are still open. So – also for the Thonberg. (C) SZ KM Ina Förster"
