"Restaurant Criticism from 31.07.2014 I was with daughter and granddaughter on shopping tour in “V B – City”. Just a few meters from the outlet is the “Salzbadkeller” restaurant in the middle of the small pedestrian area of Mettlach. I was particularly tempting with the recommendations of the day on a large glass panel, including horse steak with supplements of €15.80. I only learned that it was “out” when we had already given up the order and the drinks were taken. Now we were here.... The restaurant in a beautiful historical building, the inscription on an old bar dates it to 1750, welcomes its guests in 3 originally very tastefully differently decorated rooms. White plastered walls beside quarry stone masonry, antique Art Nouveau furniture, a large free swinging pendulum clock in the entrance area as well as decorative images on the walls set accents. You feel comfortable right now. The outdoor area is also very beautifully designed and invites you to stay on comfortable baskets in front of the restaurant overlooking the pedestrian area, in the passage to the small square behind the restaurant or the covered beer garden. Food The restaurant offers an appealing selection of homemade and Mediterranean cuisine. Unfortunately, the horse steak was not to get, although I asked the service when ordering whether it was a piece of neck or back. It was surprising that the steak was not removed from the offer table as a daily recommendation (intentionally?). Our choice then fell on duet from the Wolfbarsch salmon with vegetables on Chicoree, with parsley potatoes at €13.40 and Wiener Schnitzel from the calf with pommes and salad at €15.90 review: The Wolfsbarsch, on the skin crispy roasted on the rest with beautiful white point. The vegetables on Chicoree were a few pleasantly bite-resistant and well seasoned zucchini slices, paprika strips and 2 counted seedlings without chicoree. This, initially as a moderately calculated duet, proved to be an overpriced savings menu and relaxation offer for lunch tourists. Total Nepp was the Wiener Schnitzel. An extremely thinly loped piece of veal, covered with a much scarcely spiced pannade and then fried and dust-drying. The supplement salad with carrots and herb salad (although prefabricated from the big bucket for gastronomy and “hard” salad leaves – you don’t want so much waste when cleaning came also quite sweet and faded. This food for 15,90 € is already limited. Service The restaurant was very well visited. But it was only a female service force that receives a star of respect from me, because it somehow mastered it perfectly to serve all the guests in spite of high-power and friendly. She reacted to our complaint about the food and offered an espresso as a small reparation. She alone deserved 5 stars, but everything else was too disappointing. Finally, I also found that this restaurant has almost 200 seats on the inside and outside, but can only have a chair; this was of course forgiven and we had to put my granddaughter alternately in a stroller or a pillow-padded armchair. Conclusion: very nice ambience, but the restaurant seems (at least at midday to be a tourist trap. The kitchen can, it has proved with the “duet”, but the customer satisfaction falls victim to the commerce, of which the portions and the miserable carving testify. There's plenty of air up there."
