"A long weekend as a straw guard (the dear woman is on the Kirchtag in Stuttgart with 2 children. Temperatures are summery, which is better to visit than Verler Eiscafés. Verl has the wide selection of 3 ice cream cafes right in the center for its manageable size. We (my two underage tasting assistants and I wanted to see what's best. Day 1: Cortina: Location and ambience The Cortina is one of the two old ice cream cafés. The Cortina was opened in 1986 and is located directly on Paderborner Straße, the main road of Verl. In front of the café there are some sunny tables on the street, which is not very cozy at the moment because of the large construction site that has existed for some time. Today on holiday the OK and the otherwise rather strong transit traffic was kept within limits. Inside you will find typical ice-café furniture in the style of the 90s, but not really chic. In the outer area there was a holder with the ice cards on the tables (now this is usually several as well as an ashtray. Coziness doesn't get up. Three stars. Service: Behind the ice inside there is a gentleman, I suppose the boss. Today in service are a somewhat older lady (I take the boss as well as a very young lady. We are served by the young lady who makes her very good. She is very nice with the children and also has an overview of her area. Payment is made on price declaration, there is no proof. 4 stars: In addition to the normal map with the usual ice cups, there is a map for various spaghetti ice variations. Hardcore ice fans can also order single cups in a large variant. The selection of different types of ice in the counter is very good. The ice is homemade. We ordered ourselves: 1x children spaghetti (3,80 € 1x spaghetti ice cream (4,30 € 1x Amarena cup (4,50 € The ice: Optically all ice cups corresponded to expectations. Also the size of the portions was good. The children's spaghetti, apart from the additionally used smarties and sugar spreads, were simply a smaller variant of the classic spaghetti ice cream. As an ice cream there was one of the classic elongated waffle places, as I know them from my childhood. There are now much better and crispy variations. The ice cream was very creamy and beautifully aromatic as you wish it from homemade ice cream. Feeling (purely subjective perception was not as cold as I know it from other ice cream cafes The strawberry sauce was a good standard as well as the white raspberry chocolate. To spaghetti ice is no longer much to add, the part was decently large, otherwise the components correspond to the children spaghetti. The Amarena Mug was, as far as I could see it, made with 3 balls of ice, cream and very, very many Amarenakirschen and Amarena sauce. According to my experience there are two (at least as far as I can taste this, some different variants of Amarenakirschen. A slightly acidic and one with a little more bittermandel taste. I prefer the latter. Unfortunately, the other variant was used here. An amarena cup is my standard cup in ice cream cafés, but so many amarena cups I didn't think I could get somewhere in the distance (not look so good on the picture, I had to turn the cup a little. I really like it, but here it was too much. The normal ice taste was no longer perceptible to me. In a variety of ice cream of my cup, however, small, hard bitter cores were included. I guess it was a grape ice cream for which no grapes are used. In general, the ice can be called very well here. But there are excerpts for the cores in the ice as well as the excess of amarenas sauce. 3.5 stars (from the latest tester there is a special votum “Best Children’s Spaghetti” cleanliness: Inside we were not at this visit. I can only say positively from previous visits. There are paints because of a gypsum lobe that was forgotten with us on the table and because of the ashtrays that were emptied, but from still slightly present ash residues were dug a little before themselves. There were also no napkins on the table or with the ice cups. If you eat ice cream with children, you miss them very quickly. 3.5 star price performance ratio: portion size, ice quality and price are here in a very good ratio: 4.5 stars Conclusion: The position of the Cortina is both forward and downward. Centrally located but on Skin Road. It's a bit unpleasant. The ice is good, the operation too. My test esser and I tend to be a good second place with just a little distance to No1."

"Schwiegermutter ist zu Besuch und was macht man mit Schwiegermutter wenn sie zu Besuch ist? Nein, nicht das was alle jetzt denken, ich mag meine Schweigermutter ganz gerne, schließlich macht sie wunderbaren Sauerbraten und andere schwäbische Leckereien. Also gehen wir ins Café, genau genommen ins Café Klüter. Das Café Klüter findet sich in einem wunderbaren kleinen Fachwerkhaus im Ortskern von Verl. Man sitzt hier wunderbar gemütlich in kleinen Räumen mit lediglich je 1-2 Tischen und kann ganz in Ruhe einen der sehr leckeren hausgemachten Kuchen und Torten genießen. Bei uns gab es dieses Mal Himbeertorte, Kokos-Pfirsich-Torte, Käsekuchen, Stachelbeertorte und für den Jüngsten eine Scheibe kalten Hund. Dazu Kaffee, Milchkaffee und Espresso. Einzig der Espresso war verbesserungswürdig, die restlichen Kaffees und die Kuchen waren wunderbar. Für 5 Stück Kuchen, Milchkaffee, Kaffee, doppelter Espresso, Cola und Sprite waren dann zusammen 26,40 € fällig."
