Wow! We’re from Southern California, but we often visit Columbus to see family. We’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time, and we finally had the chance when Epic was closed for Thanksgiving week. We started with the incredible fried green tomato appetizer, shared their amazing Southern-style wedge salad, and were absolutely amazed by our main courses. My wife had the trout while I opted for the fillet. It was the most tender, perfectly cooked, and wonderfully glazed fillet I’ve ever had. We spoke with the staff, who informed us that by spring, everything in the restaurant will be 100% farm to table—that’s a rarity even in Southern California. I'm truly impressed and now...
I have eaten here on three different occasions and it has been hit or miss. Every time I have eaten here I order the same thing but I might vary on the appetizers. Don't get the alligator bites though! We ordered those and they tasted the way pond scum smells. It was so disgusting. I get the black tea salad and the chocolate mouse for dessert. Both have been super tasty and I love the unique spin on both. As far as the staff, the first and second time it took a while to get a waiter and our food was slow to come out. The other time service was fairly decent. <br/ <br/ I think there are a few kinks to work out but over all I think its a fairly decent place to dine.
The service was exceptional. We were seated immediately and ordered a couple of beers from Grayton Beer. The appetizers, which included waffles and fried chicken, were excellent, as were the Caprese salad and fried green tomatoes. For the main courses, we had lamb chops with sweet potato mash, a filet with wild mushroom gravy, and a burger with fries. Everything was very good, although the sweet potato mash was slightly cold. For dessert, we tried carrot cake, rocky road, and bread pudding. The carrot cake was our favorite, followed closely by the rocky road. We can't wait to go back and highly recommend this restaurant!
I am honestly confused on how this restaurant doesn’t have perfect reviews. Our waiter was incredible. The food was locally farm sourced, cooked perfectly, and outstandingly delicious. Spectacular dirty martini. The white chocolate bread pudding oh my. Free and easy parking. Our dog sat on the patio with us. Wow. Don’t miss this experience. Réservez une table maintenant
You can definitely taste the love in the food. The ambiance is perfect with spacious seating for groups and couples. All the food was amazing and the service was A1. The table biscuits and the smoked chicken legs were the perfect appetizer. The sauce was the icing on the cake.
