Very expensive for the quality of the food. Feels like an amateur chef. Steak: pretty chewy for over $60 a la carte; Sides: heavy handed. Veg: Broccolini should be bright green. Ours was brown. Fish of the day? Drowning in rich sauce and overly stuffed with heavy stuffing. The biggest issue? Lobster that tasted strongly of ammonia. Sent it back after unfortunately swallowing a bite and they said that it would be removed from the bill. Well, I would hope so. Nothing else was offered in exchange; no other bill reduction. Hoping I do not end up sick as a result. That ended up ruining the VERY expensive meal. The service otherwise was surprisingly inattentive. I had so been looking forward to go...
We were disappointed by Bowens. The food was ok, but not great. It came out a bit cold and quite slow. Spices were rather bland and none of the menu was 'special '. The wine list was average and quite expensive, although they did have a Cab Franc which was affordable and uncommon. It was very noisy. I was not impressed with either the hosts or the serving staff, who all seemed to just be putting in their time until they could go home. Newport is full of wonderful restaurants, so I suggest you try elsewhere.
Two bartenders, a turtle would move quicker, plus sharp attitude. Complete opposite with the waiter. We had felt like we were dining in the city at a Michelin Starred restaurant. So, avoid the bar, go right to the table. What kills me, excellent wine list, again one you would find in the city. Too bad the male bartender, Dutch, was a mixologist. In the end, glad we got the bottle at the table. Service: Dine in
Spectacular lunchfood was wonderful and service even better. Highly recommended. The chopped chicories salad should be on your short list! Ask to sit inside in front of the open windows and enjoy the best of both . Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30

Great restaurant located at the bowen Pier! The food is amazing, and large portion sizes are given! It has a romantic atmosphere due to the lighting. Service was attentive and informative. Book that reservation! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50
