We were extremely disappointed by this visit. We felt the cost was disproportionately high having regard to the standard of food provided. We expected the food to be high end based on the reviews that we had read but the food was, in our view, below average. The service was not anything out of the ordinary and was below average having regard to cost, reviews and reputation for this restaurant. The steak ordered was below average, was on the cold side and was chewy. The oysters did not taste fresh. The general flavours were below average and in no way reflected our expectations based on the cost of the meal.

Undoubtedly, the food is the first rate. Well cooked and seasoned. The service is not what one would expect in a restaurant of this level (e.g. to ask for wine list or water). The receipt of qualified staff is demanding, but the top restaurants manage this. Glass around and tight tables provide a loud and crowded environment, but the ambience is clearly no priority. If you only go for food and not the experience it is good.

Service was phenomenal, the beef Wellington was perfection, the cocktails delicious and atmosphere exceptional.
