My husband, myself, and a couple of good friends dined at 50 Fifty Asian Fusion in Claremont, last night for the first time as per my suggestion. We do a podcast in the area on most Saturdays and after the podcast we go to dinner most of the time. I’m the one that scouts out different restaurants and makes the reservations etc. When I called to make the reservation,Joyce, the owner was the one that answered the phone. She was so lovely over the phone. We also had the pleasure of meeting her in person at the restaurant. She is really a lovely lady and adds to the atmosphere. My husband really enjoyed the pad thai! The ambiance is lovely, and they have an excellent selection of dishes. The pickup process was quick and easy, and the appetizers we ordered were fantastic. However, we did run into one issue: after our recent move, we had packed away all our silverware. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn't provide a knife, which made it a bit tricky to cut through the pork. Despite that, I really liked the experience and can't wait to return!
First of all don’t rely on Open Table- they will tell you no reservations available but that is wrong; you just have to call. The ambiance is a bit stark but the food is fantastic. Joyce came out and was so nice and told us she makes everything to order and you can tell. We really enjoyed our dinner so much- the Tom Ka soup, spicy Asian chicken and red curry with shrimp.
The staff is wonderful, and the atmosphere is delightful — it's neither too crowded nor cramped. I’ve heard it's a local business, and we enjoy supporting them whenever we can! Our large group ended up lingering a bit past closing time, but the team was gracious and accommodating, never rushing us out. I hope this place is still here when I come back to Claremont! Absolutely amazing dishes!We had the mini puffs to start, and split pad Thai and honey pork loin. The flavors and the freshness can't be beat!It was our first time here and not the last. Staff was super friendly and very lovely. We had a great meal and we are definitely coming back soon.
This is our favorite spot in Claremont because the food is fantastic and the menu offers a great variety. They also have excellent prices on wine by the glass. The owner is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and they are happy to adjust dishes to make them vegetarian.
Joyce has been crafting exceptional Asian Fusion cuisine for over 20 years. Her Mandalay Curry is outstanding, and the spices used in her other dishes are simply perfection. It's a fantastic spot for enjoying meals with family and friends, whether for lunch or dinner.
