We have visited Restaurant 55 many many times over the years and have never once been disappointed! The burgers are incredible! The meat is very fresh and flavorful. The buns are so soft and tasty. We also love the fish and chips! The fried pickles andsweet potato fries are great starters and the variety of cupcake flavors they have are the perfect dessert. You really can't gowrong with much of anything on the menu. The atmosphere is more pub style and can be noiser, but not to the point where normalconversation is disturbed. My party of two arrived at about 1215 pm on a Monday-there was sufficient parking. We were seated immediately. It took several minutes longer-out of the norm wait time for our waiter to make it to our table-we ordered drinks and our food. Prices appearedreasonable, menu had decent choices, and they still were serving breakfast which was a plus. Our waiter wasn?t as attentive asexpected. She didn?t check back on us, until our meal was almost over. I didn?t have utensils with my meal and had to borrowsome from a adjacent table-still no waiter. I ordered a Ruben sandwich and fries. My friend ordered Belgium waffles, turkeybacon, cheese grits. We both agreed, our meals were average at best, wait...
I've been here a few times (always at the bar) and have always had excellent service. This time especially so since the AC was broken at the bar but the bartender was still working frenetically and apologizing to customers but not complaining at all. I'm on a slight health kick so got the tuna salad (cooked rare) and it was delicious. The burgers and crab sandwich I had previously were also delicious. Plus, they have a huge beer selection and some great whiskeys that don't come with a crazy markup. Highly recommend this place.
Had not been to Restaurant 55 in a couple of years. Their hours were generally not compatible with my schedule. So glad we went. The food was great. They were busy so we had a bit of a wait. Wound up talking with the couple next to us, quite a bit.By the time we were leaving, we had exchanged information in hopes of seeing them again. : Evan is a very empathetic serverand anticipate our needs. We arrived from Virginia just before opening on Saturday. There were several other cars with people waiting to get in! The food and service did not disappoint. My Ruben was stuffed with good quality meat, a very generous portion. Delicious. The WillyNelson burger was good but not great and we realized later it was missing the BBQ sauce. We'll go back.
On our way back home to NY from Ocean city Maryland we were getting hungry. Daughter said she wanted a burger so she looked up restaurants and found Restaurant 55. We were not disappointed at all. Fried pickle spears were great. Both our burgers weredelicious and huge. Great the family owned restaurant. Serve was excellent too.
55 outshines many restaurants in Hamburg. The burgers are creative, and the atmosphere is perfect for a night out with friends. However, one might wish for a broader menu selection.
55 is my go-to place for artisan burgers and exceptional craftsmanship. The staff is wonderful, and both the service and ambiance are outstanding!
