This is a hidden gem that we just happened to find from a Google search. This restaurant and pub is Located right off of RT 119 in Ashby. A farmhouse/industrial style feel with great food and service. They offer dining settings in the main restaurant or pub as well as an outdoor area perfect for warm weather dining. The menu is simple but offers something for everyone. The atmosphere was cozy and clean. Highly recommended for a light lunch or a romantic date night. We were pleasantly surprised and will be back for seconds! Parking: Parking is located in the back of the building.
It appears that chef Boyardee cannot tell the difference between shrimp scampi and shrimp alfredo. Avoid this place like the plague! The food is way too expensive, the beverages are suboptimal, the weight service is, at best, average, and the food is horrific. There's at least a dozen better options in the general area then this place. Given the lack of vehicles in the parking lot at primetime on a Saturday evening, we should have figured it out, but we went in, hoping for a lot better than what we received. Find a better option to spend your weekend evening!!!
Went for lunch today and both my daughter and I ordered the Cobb salad. We got lots of romaine lettuce, dry chicken, half of a boiled egg, very small pieces of cucumbers, couple of cherry tomatoes, Croutons, and 3 small slices of Avocado. Only thing this place has going for it is the atmosphere. Sat on the Tavern side and I could barely carry on a conversation as the music was very loud. Will not be returning anytime soon.
Food was good but prices are high. Not many choices for average tavern food seems like they are trying to make the food fancy...but this is Ashby. Drinks are very expensive $11 for a mixed drink and weak pour and beer is also priced high. Prices high for Ashby going back to Fitchburg, Townsend and Peterborough. First time trying this place for dinner. The front of the building is very quiet. We almost left because we believed it was not open. Wheelchair accessibility: Park at the back of the building. Event held there food was excellent. Very organized and well thought out. Service was great. Planning an event this is the place to reserve. The chef is phenomenal.
