Nous sommes venus à La Tremblade il y a plus de 20 ans et nous voulions voir si cela avait changé. Les restaurants ont augmenté, mais la région n'a pas changé du tout, me rappelle une grande partie de Southwold à Suffolk, les cabanes de pêcheurs tout le long de l'estuaire. Nous avons mangé ici un jeudi après-midi, l'endroit était presque plein, mais le serveur était super, aidé avec la sélection et la nourriture était grande, mon mari particulièrement apprécié les moules, pour moi c'était la soupe de poisson. Une bonne cuisine honnête dans un restaurant rustique.
This was where we found ourselves on a road trip through the region. Along the road to the port we found lots of eateries with oysters on the menu. La Bonne Renommee is towards the end of the road and it was full...always a good recommendation. The oysters were very good with a cheap and cheerful vin blanc. All good. The road is lined with fishermens huts along the estuary, so its scenic as well. Hint Stop in La Tremblade as there is nothing else beyond that heading back to Sainte.
We are regulars to this delightful fish restaurant whenever we travel from England to France and we look forward to every meal we have here. 10/10 each and every time. Oysters, moules, langoustines...whatever your pleasure is, it is catered to. We adore this family run establishment and are welcomed every time we visit and miss it whenever we return home to England. Highly, highly recommended.
Four of us visited for lunch, between us we had Soupe de Poisson, Oysters au gratin. Followed by Eclade de Moules and Moule marinieres. All superb the eclade consists of moules cooked in burning pine needles. Nice area to visit with masses of fish restaurants along the canal dotted with oyster shacks.
