A L'ecu D'or - Réserver une table

We were 3 nights in Le Puy, so we wanted something special for one of those nights, and selected l'Ecu d'Or based on its good reviews. The night was just what we hoped for-the atmosphere in the restaurant was very good, being in a historic building, service was excellent, and all elements of the 3-course menu we went for were very good. I'm usually nervous about ordering a steak in France, as the cuts used can be pretty fatty, and the French often just won't cook a steak the way you want it. But the steak I had at l'Ecu d'Or was perfect-I did not need to trim a single piece, and I asked for medium and that's exactly what I got.

In the centre of the wonderful Medieval city of Le Puy en Velay this charming, friendly and busy local restaurant provided us with a superb dinner is splendid surroundings. Very efficient and friendly staff my steak was cooked to perfection and was served with a Rochforte sauce Wouldn’t hesitate in revisiting the Ecu D’or

food very corred. Good. staff all ok. Good service. Nice menu and the dishes we tried all of them was good. Just a little bit expensive for what they deliver. Anyhow was a very pleasant dinner and if i come back to Le Puy i will go back.

Lovely small character restaurant serving delicious local food in a lovely environment. Friendly smiling helpful staff. Reasonable price. Excellent variety of dishes and wine on menu. The chef is a real personality

Very good food. The restaurant owners are helpful and attentive. We had a good bottle of red wine, two delicious main courses, dessert and cheeses. Don't miss out on the pear sorbet for dessert!
