We booked for the two of us for dinner a few weeks ago. I hadn’t been to A Table at Eatons for many years and so We were looking forward to it! We were not disappointed at all. Very warm welcome and chit chat from John and Lou who treated us like old friends. The food was really good and well prepared and presented. My wife had the Field Mushroom and Goats Cheese whilst I had Scallops. Highly recommended. For mains we chose Chicken for my wife and I had the Rack of Lamb. Pink and gorgeous! We both had puds Treacle and Stem Ginger tart and Crème Caramel. We also had a bottle of Italian red. Thanks for a great evening we will be back soon…
A genuinely friendly welcome from John, who runs the front of house, and beautiful cooking from Lou made for an excellent dinner. The scallop thermidor starters were superb and Lou very kindly gave me the recipe! Rack of lamb alongside my partners fillets of sea bass were both beautifully cooked and a special mention for the rhubarb crumble for pudding. Finish that off with an exceptional cheeseboard and a couple of glasses of port whilst we had a lovely conversation with both of them and you can’t go far wrong. and you can’t go far wrong
Had a great meal here this week, we were a family of 8 and nothing was to much trouble We had a large range of starters and main meals and everything was ready, at the same time and piping hot. The chicken stuffed with leeks in a mushroom sauce was fantastic So was the half duck with orange sauce. Great service from the owners John and Lou, we’re attentive, professional and good company. Will be back
Lunch with friends today !! What can we say !! The food was amazing and we were made to feel so welcome . John and Louise are brilliant hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. There where 8 of us the waiter was amazing , and each plate of food we had was delicious, we will definitely be back, I had the bury blackpudding covered in melted cheese with onion chutney for a starter , then the chicken stuffed with leeks and wrapped in Parma ham with a smooth mushroom sauce, I couldn’t eat a dessert as I was stuffed
What a gem of a place! Four of us were subjected to some delicious food, gorgeous wine and fantastic service. Have lived in the area for a few years and never knew this little gem existed. Family run, producing locally sourced food to a very high standard. A place where we will always visit!
We have been visiting this small restaurant for a few years. John and lou are a fabulous couple . John front of house. Lou a brilliant cook. Food allways delicious piping hot and such a good varied menu. A must visit.
