This is the perfect place for a date! The ambiance is stunning, featuring a charming, historic feel with hardwood floors, antique furniture, and elegant brocade wallpaper. The service was exceptional as well! A special thanks to Hernan, who was fantastic—so friendly and always ready to refill our drinks. He even treated us to some delicious lemon drinks at the end of the evening. What a wonderful person! After our meal, we took a stroll down to the water, which is just a few minutes away. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and we will definitely be returning.
Honestly can 't say enough good things about this place! Was looking for a nice wine bar but this was so much more. This honestly was the best cocktail bar I 've been to. My girlfriend and I started off with their Beaujolais wine flight special and it was delicious (see pic) then my girlfriend had a special, their French '89 which was absolutely fantastic then my girlfriend had the rose window which was totally different but also amazingly delicious. I had the Pinot noir
Hidden gem! The bar is affiliated (but still a separate entity) with the adjacent, Chez Billy Sud. I'm a Francophile and Bar a Vin nailed the classy, candle lit, French atmosphere. The drinks were great, the cocktails were a little pricey, but par for the course for nicer DC establishments. The wine list is varied there should be something agreeable for all pallets and wallets. Looking forward to returning!
Loved this place. It has a beautiful historic flavor and a wonderful you gotta know it 's there kind of feel.I went on a cool sunny Saturday and enjoyed an Americano and a delicious buckwheat crêpe.The staff was friendly and attentive. A sophisticated yet approachable staff who were professional, friendly and attentive.I highly recommend Bar a Vin as a date spot.

In the last 40 years, I’ve dined at several restaurants in that location, and I can confidently say that this is the best one to have ever operated at 1039 31st St. The atmosphere, the menu, and the attentiveness of the staff combined to create a truly wonderful experience. I would recommend Chez Billy Sud to anyone who values a great dining experience.
This hidden gem is absolutely charming! You might walk by without even noticing it. Just head up the brick steps to the right and step into the cozy, fireplace-warmed lobby, then make your way to the bar. You'll find light bites, a diverse selection of beers and wines, and fantastic cocktails waiting for you. Don't let this spot pass you by!
This place is absolutely terrific. I’ve dined here many times and even had my engagement party here. Juan has always done a terrific job and is very kind and friendly. The steak frites here are great, and the cocktails are delicious. The environment is unparalleled too, it’s gorgeous and warm in there.
A bar with a French influence. Great environment, good service, a rotating daily selection of red wine, white wine and beer for happy hour. Great spot in Georgetown to grab a drink. Be sure to visit their sister restaurant next door for a full menu as well!

Amazing atmosphere in this tucked-away bar in Georgetown. The cocktails and dessert were great (try the chocolate pastiche ice cream! . It is dimly lit with candles and has a great historical vibe off the beaten path. Look forward to returning!
This was such a great stop and would highly recommend! We didn't have reservations for our group of 7 but were accommodated all the same! Would love to come back again.
