I can't emphasize enough what a wonderful job Bradley and his team did of hosting our event at The Abinger Hatch. We were celebrating the lives of recently lost loved ones and we held the event in the Tipi. It was beautifully decorated, lit and heated, and all the staff were lovely and extremely efficient. The whole team made everything so easy for us, and there was always someone there with a tablet ready to take orders for the bar. The drinks we requested to be available in the tipi itself were well laid out and kept topped up. The buffet food was outstanding, and certainly nobody went hungry, there was so much to go around. I'd like to thank the whole team, including those in the kitchen...
we ordered the luke nachos that only with a small piece of vegan cheese and baked beans. could have been much better in my opinion. then we had the rustic pizza that I was not enthusiastic about, as she had too many caramelized wobbles on which it tasted rather bitter. for dessert we had the oreo chocolate dirt pot, which was also very disappointing. it was in the ground a few oreos in a glass with a bit chocolate sauce for £6.50 I found it all very overpriced for the quality of the food. will not come back, but I think it is a profi that the pub actually has a vegan menu, was simply not on our taste.
Eating is perfectly cooked. probably one of the best pubs for eating in surrey, and I tried some of them. they seem to be a little under the staff at the moment, but most of them are pubs. I usually have their suppe of the day that is always delicious! I don't interrupt with the other appetizers as they are quite small portions for the price, but still tasty. I recently had the Harissa chicken with polnta. the chicken was nicely cooked and very juicy. the others have the chicken burger they loved! come back to eat again and again!
We come here quite often, so I thought I'd leave a review. I'm not from England and this place is exactly what you would expect from a cute country English pub fire going, interesting architecture, cosy feel. It's a perfect place to end a walk. The pub is dog/baby/child friendly, the food is great, there are plenty of interesting vegetarian options and the menu changes seasonally. The staff are super friendly and it's always a relaxing experience. Réservez une table maintenant
I had the vegan Buddha shell with flower cabbage wings as extra. huge bowl of different grains, pulses and veg including some crispy noodles that also gave interesting textures. there is a vegan menu to ask for. a large selection of starters, netzen and desserts. I look forward to going back to try something else on the menu.
a fantastic stop for sunday roast after a beautiful walk in the surrey hills. amazing Brat dinner (including the vegetarian wellington,) good wine/beer list and a beautiful atmosphere. they are also super dog friendly if they have a small four-legged friend. I recommend this charming pub.
