We live down the street from Abington Ale House and hadn 't been there in quite some time, so today we decided to stop in for lunch. I ordered the Kung Pao wraps, and my husband got the pastrami sandwich, which he gets every time we 've gone there in the past. My food was fine, nothing special but not bad. The pastrami sandwich was a disgrace. Mostly gristle, and looked like it had been torn off by hand, not carved with a knife. We showed the server, and he said he would let someone know , but when he came back all he had with him was the bill, and didn 't say a single word about our complaint. My family and I have been going to Abington Ale House for years and for so long their food was so good but the last few times I’ve been there, the food has gone down hill. I don’t know who the cook is but someone needs to educate him on what BUFFALO CHICKEN DIP is, what they are serving looks and tastes like canned chicken, a can of queso dip and a splatter of franks red hot. It is runny like soup and tastes horrible. REAL BCD the chicken is shredded and not soup and it’s cheesy made with blue cheese crumbles or not depending on how you like it but what they are serving is a joke and I feel embarrassed for the cook. Waited 55 minutes for a pastrami sandwich that was ice cold and the onion rings I paid extra for were hard and cold. They did bring a replacement sandwich after my wife had finished here dinner, but it was so soggy it fell apart, it looked like they drained the onion string grease over the sandwich. We used to come here every year for Birthday meals. The food quality has gone WAY downhill. The spinach and artichoke dip seemed like it was made with cream cheese. They messed up the check and it took forever to rectify. The manager was nice and apologetic. They ID'd my eight year old for her $8 Birthday meal. Next time we're going to Mia Regazza or D'Ann's. Nearly 30 years in my experience, Abington Ale House has always understood the assignment. Mac N Cheese is perfect, French Onion Soup and Roast beef is so flavorful, never had a bad meal or bad service and the atmosphere is so cozy and outdoorsy. Not too expensive either. Breakfast for kids was terrible. I understand they had the 'breakfast with Santa ' event but the pancakes we received were hard, and cold. I felt bad giving them to our children but our server took too long to come back to check on us. Again, I understand they are busy, but it was disappointing nonetheless.
Got takeout, apps+meal+dessert, and everything was perfect! The food was perfect, it was done at the exact quoted time, utensils in the bag and I wish all places would package the way they so here; cold stuff in 1 bag, hot in another.. thank u! Everything was great we'll be back!! Food: 5
