I have a bit of a thing about trying local, traditional food while traveling. Trapped as I am on a sort of British holiday camp without a car, I was pleased to find earlier reviews of this one, and a website promising a Corsican ‘range’. Has to be said it’s rather limited (where are the wild boar, and kid stews, laced with the fragrant herbs of the maquis, for instance? but the platter we shared as a starter was wonderful. Mr P with me said ‘this was a good idea” as he swiftly polished off the delicious charcuterie and cheeses, and a glass of local red. (Praise indeed! The Gambas were tasty and succulent, and the Beef tartare defeating in portion. Pizza also went down very well and was piping hot when it came. I COULD say that all three of our main courses were served one after the other just so as we could admire in detail our companions dishes, and their eating techniques (true and that the waiters were a bit lacking in charm (also true But it was not to the detriment of good food, nicely presented. I would recommend and would return, though I think this will be our swan song to Corsica. The ice cream sundaes and range of ice cream were to die for, but instead of having it in the restaurant, my other half made the point that with a choice of 24 flavours outside, who really needed the 68 inside the restaurant. So we walked home along the beach eating it instead. Strawberry divine, and white chocolate also really fab. I’m going back for snickers this evening. (Anyone know where I can get a good Corsican style wild boar casserole in South East England? I have a feeling Rick Stein has a recipe. Must look!

Absolutely delicious ice cream; huge range of flavours. We also ate at the restaurant (moules frites very good) and the kids had the biggest most wonderful sundaes I have ever seen. Just fabulous. Waiters busy but friendly.

The huge selection of icecream will mean you'll want to come back more than once. We also had a meal in the restaurant one evening and the steak was excellent but have an appetite, they're big!

This was by far the best ice cream from the takeaway counter, well worth queuing up for. We tried to eat in the restaurant but it's very popular and you need to book well in advance.
