I haven't eaten so well in a long time! I actually had a reservation for 1 p.m. on a Saturday, but due to the weather I didn't arrive until a quarter to 2 (I had called beforehand . The restaurant is very remote (idyllic, of course , but there are a lot of signs (good marketing! pointing the way there. For just under €155 for two, we had the following: 1x starter tartare from Dorade Royal, mango, avocado cream... 2x main course Muscovy duck with orange sauce saddle of milk veal with morel cream ... 2x dessert strawberry variation (sorbet, tartlet, ... 2 glasses of exclusively bottled red wine (I think it was Pinot Noir , still water, non alcoholic sparkling wine with grenadine. Excellent cuisine in the beautiful hotel. Unfortunately service only 1 star. Please always check your invoice. My partner and I each ordered a starter and an intermediate course. My intermediate course was charged at €38.50 instead of €18.50 on the bill. My partner's with the correct price. When I asked, I was told that my intermediate course was billed as a main course. This wasn't listed as an ordering option on the menu and I wasn't informed of it beforehand.

Excellent restaurant. Always a delight! We've been to the Abt Schäferstube in Amorbach for the third time now, and we're always impressed! You can immediately tell that the food here is cooked with passion and quality. Everything we've tried so far has been simply fantastic. The service is always very attentive, friendly, and warm. So I haven't met sheep there, at least none with four legs. The Schafhof is rather a hotel with two restaurants of upscale cuisine with a lot of nature. Excellent cuisine, also recommended for celebrations and conferences.

That it still exists! A country guest castle a la Eichendorf. Solid, exquisite and a culinary place of desire. Book, go and relax let everything happen. Odenwald at its finest and best.
