Afous seems to be a very popular restaurant situated along the Spit Bridge. We arrived at 7.30pm on a Saturday night and walking up the stairs, the noise we could hear from the diners gave us an indication of how busy they were. They were completely full with the last remaining table reserved for us (thankfully we booked). A few other couples immediately followed, only to be told they had to wait. The night starts off with them bringing over 2 silver bottles of rose water and pouring a little into the palms of our hands - a Moroccan hand washing tradition. Very fitting for their concept - 'Afous, the perfume of life', which awakens the 5 senses. Staff are really friendly and alw...

My first experience and definitely not the last! We were received by staff and Manager, greeted by name which was a wonderful personal touch that carried throughout the evening to our departure. The ambience was great with soft music and a wonderful view of Middle Harbour outside the Marina surrounds. The service was exceptional the whole evening and it's good to know that some places still do care about customer service and satisfaction. With advice from our waiter of our initial selections, we ordered 4x tapas dishes and a main which were cooked very well, our favourite being the prawns and scallops that were grilled perfectly. We were offered complimentary bread which came out hot and f...
Afous reminds me of the family style Italian restaurants that were so much more prevalent on the North Shore twenty years ago. You are greeted on arrival with a 'Welcome Home', and although that may seem a bit naf to some I very much enjoy the friendly service and the unpretentious but tasty food. Our group of 7 shared tapas entrees, a number of mains and some desserts for $60pp (not including wine, which is BYO only with no corkage charged). We left full, relaxed, and happy. The warm and lively atmosphere at this restaurant was absolutely amazing!! The staff were attentive, funny and laid back all at the same time, and they made us feel right at home from the minute we set foot in the restaurant. Drops of rose water for our hands prior to starting our meal was a nice added touch. The menu had many exotic choices and we were impressed by every single dish that was served tonight. Indeed a unique and memorable dining experience.
I cannot express how amazing the food and service was. Came on a busy Saturday night but everything just went well. The owner was polite yet charismatic and made the effort to have conversations and jokes with you. The food was delightful as well, I really recommend the fish tagine and for desert, the panna cotta. Will 100% be returning
Service is really amazing! Visiting from Dubai and was overall happy with everything! Prices are also reasonably priced ???????? awesome presentation of meals...in cute tagine pots ???? morrocan meatballs were really yummy...but more flavor/seasoning would of made them better!
Fantastic food! The flavours are just spectacular. I love how they marry Moroccan with Spanish to create a unique and tasty fusion. Highly recommend the grilled octopus and the haloumi entrees. I can't wait to come back here. Réservez une table maintenant

"Great atmosphere and food. Feels like a family restaurant which is rare so close to the city and in an area that's full of places that are probably "trendier""
