I had tickets for the evening's entertainment in the ballroom and thought it would be an idea to have supper first to make a night of it. We were straight away led to The Grill and seated by a lovely welcoming member of staff who made sure we had drinks and menus. The variety itself was more than sufficient with something for everyone. We know what we like and like what we want so went for two of the salmon and two of the turkey/ham combo. Our starters were served very quickly and plates cleared as soon as we were finished. My company remarked on the still warm bread rolls complimented on how hot full of flavour the soup was. We opted to have our tea in the ballroom as the seats were filling...
We had dinner in the Grill, we made a last minute reservation with the receptionist who was very helpful in getting this arranged at short notice. Beautiful restaurant very spacious and well decorated. Everywhere was also spotless! The service in the Grill from Shannon was excellent. Very friendly, polite and down to earth girl who looked like she enjoyed her job and working with people. We are picky Vegetarians, and the meal was out of this world with some beautiful meals choices! We both had the Goat's Cheese Bruchetta and then the Vegetable Thai Curry with Garlic Potatoes Beer Battered Onion Rings! One of the best meals we have had in a long time. I can't speak highly enough of the experience my sister and I had at the Everglades last Saturday afternoon to celebrate her upcoming birthday. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Not only was it a relaxing atmosphere where we were not rushed and stayed for over two hours, but our server Fionn consistently provided us with drinks without even having to ask. We had so much food left over that we were able to take some special afternoon tea boxes home to enjoy later. The variety of food was fantastic and incredibly delicious, catering to those with a sweet or savory palette. I highly recommend it for a special and delicious treat! I will definitely be returning soon.
I had an absolutely fantastic time at the restaurant on Saturday afternoon tea. I can't praise it highly enough! The food was amazing, incredibly delicious, and beautifully presented. We had endless amounts of tea and cake in a beautiful room with a cozy fire and background piano music. After our meal, we left with crates full of tasty treats. The staff were fantastic and very attentive, making sure everything was perfect for us. We had never experienced such great service during afternoon tea before. It was the perfect bite for everyone. My wife and I were on a tour and did not opt for the optional excursion and decided to eat at the hotel. Very nice clubby setting. We had a young server who was sincere. I had chicken and steak **** and Bull and it was quite tasty the side salads are wonderful and served on a slab see photo . My wife had the salmon and really liked it along with a buttered greens side. We shared a dessert Glastry Slider consisting of three scoops of ice cream including honeycomb something I 've never had but enjoyed very much on a cake base with fruit compote excellent!
Stayed at the Everglades Hotel for 2 nights and had dinner and breakfast on 2 occasions. The breakfast choices were wide and varied using specific ingredients as per the 2016 National Food Focus. If you are staying at the hotel and intend to take breakfast at the hotel make sure that you book the night before as a discount applies if you do. Dinner was very high standard with range and standard of food exceptional. Staff standard commensurate with food served.
