My husband and I traveled to Ramsgate from London for the Bank Holiday weekend, eagerly anticipating dinner at Age Sons, which we had booked a few weeks earlier. Since we wanted to explore more of Ramsgate, we changed our reservation from 8 PM to 9 PM. However, we were running a bit late and called to inform them. Upon our arrival, we were informed that the kitchen closes at 9 PM and that they would not serve us. I can't understand why no one thought to mention this to us at any point! The staff member we spoke to was far from apologetic and seemed indifferent. Instead of offering us a reservation for lunch the next day, he simply had a dismissive attitude. If Age Sons aims to be an upscale...

My partner and I traveled to Ramsgate over the bank holiday weekend, and we were really looking forward to dining at Age Sons, which we had booked a few weeks prior. Since we wanted to explore more of Ramsgate, we changed our reservation from 8 PM to 9 PM. Unfortunately, we ran a little late and called to inform them. When we arrived, we were told that the kitchen closes at 9 PM and they would not serve us. It was frustrating that no one thought to inform us about this beforehand! The staff member we spoke to was far from apologetic and seemed uninterested in helping us. Instead of trying to accommodate us with an earlier reservation, they just brushed us off. If Age Sons wants to be conside...

I have eaten here several times and eating is always interesting and good I wanted to have the set menu, since this is good but it was not offered so instead of my gast too embarrassing we ate out of the a la carte menu this made it an expensive outing and there is no reasonable house wine £16.95 for a primrose is not a bargain for the customer. the sea bass was perfectly boiled, however, and the braided salat was unusual and tasty as accompaniment my companion pork belt with plumen was delish, but bit boring only a few kartoffels with him we shared a chocolate nemesis and both loved it would go again if set menu was available service was attentive, but would have more seasonal veg included...

Our table wasn't ready on arrival so we were re directed to the bar where we failed to be served as only 1 bar tender was working on a busy Saturday evening. 15 minutes later we were shown to our table. We failed to get the attention of any member of staff. 25 minutes later we decided to leave. The service was appalling and a disappointing start to a Birthday evening. Our party felt that Age and Sons should not accept bookings if they cannot cater for their customers. We won't return and cannot recommend. The review requires me to rate food and value have given 1/5 but I didn't actually experience either due to poor service. Réservez une table maintenant

The food was excellent, but the service left a lot to be desired. Our meals were served without anyone checking in to see if everything was to our liking, and the restaurant wasn't busy, so there's no excuse for feeling overlooked. We asked for more bread and ended up having to get the butter ourselves. The wine was just placed on the table without any presentation. I would love to recommend this place because the food was really good, but service is a crucial part of the dining experience, and that was definitely lacking here.

A warm welcome. We had a drink in the cocktail bar first a quirky underground bar where we were surprised and delighted to listen to Nina Simone and Stevie Wonder being played. The upstairs restaurant is light and airy with a collection of interesting art on the walls. A small menu which suits us and indicates the chef is concentrating on quality rather than quantity of choice. Excellent bread, very good food and helpful service (the recommended wine was spot on) what more could we want?

The food was good, but the service was disappointing. Our dishes were served, but no one checked in to see if everything was satisfactory, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. After asking for more bread, I had to get extra butter myself, and the wine was left unattended on the table. I want to recommend the restaurant because the food was really tasty, but the service is a crucial part of the overall experience, and it was lacking.

Upon arrival, I had a negative feeling, as the atmosphere was uninviting. The kitchen is located below the dining area, which adds to the overall disappointment. There is a noticeable lack of attention to detail. In Spanish, we might say it feels 'un transversal y no poder'—there's an overwhelming sense of something being off here. Unfortunately, I foresee a bleak future for this establishment. Réservez une table maintenant

The arrival experience was disappointing, and the ambiance left much to be desired. The kitchen is located downstairs while the restaurant is upstairs, which creates a disconnect. There is a noticeable lack of attention to detail. In Spanish, we would say "un querer y no poder." I foresee a bleak future for this establishment.
