I was a student pilot. A couple of years ago I landed in Lindsay airport. We were hungry and there was a small restate that on site. After a standard bacon and eggs breakfast I spotted butter tarts. I asked the lady what were the best ones and she said coconut. To be honest I don't eat butter tarts and I have never tried one however my wife loves them. I bought 4 and flew back to my home airport. When I went to the office the dispatcher asked if those were butter tarts from Lindsay in the box. Not wanting to be rude I said yes and offered her one. Another dispatcher appeared and asked if he could have one. I obliged then promptly hid the other two. I took them home and gave them to my wife....
As the name says it is located at the airport... because it is not right in town I often forget about this little gem. We stopped in for lunch and was quickly reminded why it has been a part of the community for so many...years. Good home style cooking, large portions, reasonable prices with friendly service... you know its true because its always full of seniors. They know all the best spots! lol Thank you for a great lunch.
My wife and I used to stop here the odd time in the 90s going to Kinmount. Stopped in on a Saturday at 2:00 p.m. so we were the only ones there. Thus, service was excellent and quick, sandwiches were good, coleslaw is hand cut...and not shredded, which is great. Tarts are a little sweeter than I like. Waitress was good, other than she sang to most of the songs on the radio, lol.
