We just feasted on superb shellfish and pescaditos for lunch. White wine accompanied. It was superb as ever. Yes, deprecators, you queue for the privilege of a good bar seat. Yes, naysayers, owner Ximo is brusque.....ostensibly. However, did you ever bother to speak to him or does your lofty position in life prohibit you from lowering yourself to talking to the staff? He 's actually a great chap who appreciates anyone with a sense of humour and an appreciation of fine dining. Because, as most discerning reviewers here realise, this is very fine dining without the naff trimmings that collect a Michelin star and a bill three times what Aitana charges. We have been to this restaurant before, but took a friend for his first visit this time. We went on a Friday evening and you need to queue outside from 8.00pm for the 8.30pm opening. There are only 3 or 4 tables with seating at the bar and by the windows. There is no menu or price list. You order draft beer or white wine or a soft drink no choice within those items. Food is delivered at regular intervals and you simply tell the owner when you've had enough. We had a Denia red prawns, steamed mussels, cuttlefish, mixed fried small fish and calamari. Everything was delicious. The bill came to 30 euros each inclusive. Fantastic food and fantastic value.
El anterior propietario era ciertamente peculiar, pero la calidad era magnífica, aunque no tenía precios. Lo ha cogido un restaurador voluntarioso, que trata de mantener la oferta anterior, pero falla en lo básico, el producto y su cocción o su fritura. Es verdad que gambas y cigalas son más grandes, pero no se si tan frescas o peor cocidas, igual que la fritura,que debe hacerse con un aceite limpísimo. Le daremos otra oportunidad, pero espero que esta crítica constructiva le sirva para mejorar.
This was our second time there. The first was by happenstance, the second was by design. Great seafood, the owner would not serve anything that does not meet his high standards. Unless you go early, be prepared to wait. But it’s worth it. No fuss fresh seafood untill yo’re ready to burst. Not many places about which you couldsay this. If in the area, make an effort and go there, it will enrich your memory bank.

Recogen el testigo del lugar que durante años regentó Ximo, sin duda Victor ha intentado preservar la esencia del lugar y a fe que en producto y en calidad humana lo ha conseguido, sin duda un lugar referente en Denia. Volveré una y mil veces.
Un acierto lo mires por donde lo mires. El legado de este prestigioso local está en buenas manos. Servicio rápido y como el de toda la vida. Producto fresco y ambiente inmejorable. Mis dieces.
Comida fresca y buen marisco, muy buena calidad. Cantidades escasas. El local es una taberna clásica, pequeña, con su mantel de papel, el servicio bueno pero el precio alto.
No puedo decir otra cosa que todo fabuloso, máxima calidad de producto, lo único malo para nosotros es que somos de Alicante y no podemos ir más a menudo.
