Aji is my favorite sushi place in all NYC. The service is very friendly, attentive and generous. Love the atmosphere that it feels relaxed here. The menu is huge and everything is excellent. The special roles are brilliant (Spicy Girl and Mango Hawaii are a few of my going to it), the Udon noodle soup hits the point on a cold day. We always share edamame (no salt) and also steamed Shumai. And we do not often get dessert, but every time we did, it was clear that much care went into that too. In view of the quality of everything and the size of the portions, the prices here are excellent you do not leave hunger. Just happy.
I enjoyed everything in my order at this restaurant except for the pork belly cha shu ramen. The dish lacked flavor, with bland soup and hard boiled eggs in place of marinated ones. The meat was not chashu but simply boiled pork belly. While everything else was fantastic, it was disappointing that this particular dish did not meet my expectations.
the sushi was tiny! the black pepper tuna roll was barely wider than my pinky. for context they fit 4 rolls (24 pieces) into ONE small sushi container. usually 2, maybe 3 rolls come in a container this size. Seriously disappointed. This is our second order from Aji (first was fantastic) and it might be our last.
Cosy place where you can get beautiful Japanese food. Tried the Sashimi plate, Oldashi Tofu, soft bowl crab, Bento and the role, recommended by one of the waiters, Didi. All delicious! We even have free edamame for our appetizer. Try the dessert when we come back. Recommended!

The spicy tuna roll was fine. The hibachi was bad. The shrimp was over cooked and bland. And instead of fried rice, the rice was soaked in sauce with a mountain of onions next to it in the container. Not as described. The rest was good. Especially the gyoza.
This is the third time I visit a Japanese Restaurant in “Astoria” and it was fantastic,a lovely ,cozy,place,well and beautifully decorated,romantic ambience,great music,Sushi was delicious ,staff was awesome ,great and fast cust service!thank you guys!
The food is exquisite, it is made safe with love and super fresh ingredients. This place is up there with the best in NYC-SECOND TO NONE!!!
The delivery was incredibly quick, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. I particularly enjoyed the eel avocado roll.
