Update 09/07/2021: Tonight my family came for a hibachi dinner. The cooking style was quite entertaining. Meat, seafood, vegetables, rice and Lo Mien came out just right and delicious! If you haven’t tried hibachi, come to Akira to find out. You and your kids will all enjoy it as we and other customers with little kids did tonight. You can also check out some of the videos and pictures I took in the restaurant. 06/08/2021: After volunteering at high school, I stopped by here to order some Japanese-style lunch for my daughter. When I stepped into the restaurant, I loved the tranquil atmosphere and settings. There are outdoor seatings on the sidewalk of Main Street. They also serve hibachi at the rear section. Parking is convenient with metered parking on Main Street and free parking at the rear parking lot. Food came out very good. My daughter loved the California Rolls and Nabe Yaki Udon. I enjoyed the rolls and Pepper Tuna as well as the udon. Will bring my family to try the hibachi some time soon.
Staff was very attentive and coordinated our meal service with methodical precision. We had the hibachi lobster,shrimp and scallops with the noodles and rice. The noodles was intensely flavored with the lobster, shrimp and scallops meticulously prepared to ensure Freshness and texture. I will certainly revisit, since the ambiance was very Welcoming and price was very reasonable and fair.
The food here is always amazing! Everything is so fresh and delicious. Usually I do the Hibachi thing, but I have ordered off of the regular menu too and it's very good as well. It's a byob but they do serve sake'. The only thing that I think they can improve on is their dessert selection because it's very limited. So for that reason I'm giving them 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Compare this with Akira in Voorhees. The sushi pizza was better than that. The Sushi Pizza crust (Scallion Pizza) was a little soft/soggy and not crispy like the one in Voorhees. That really does everything. The 3 reels for $15 is much for lunch, would definitely come back as it is closer than the other location.
