This restaurant was closed for about three years or even longer, but now it has reopened with the original owner personally managing it. Al Jazeera is my top choice whenever I want authentic Yemeni cuisine. I always order the Haneeth (or Haneez, whichever you prefer to call it). Their Mandy is also excellent. They offer a unique fried whole fish that's definitely worth trying—ask for a tray to truly appreciate it. Prices are fair, and the portions are generous.
The Hanif Lamb at Al Jazeera (Lamb and Rice) is absolutely delicious and a must-try, especially when the place isn’t too crowded—the food quality is superb. Keep in mind, when the restaurant is busy, there might be some delays and the service may not be exceptional, so patience is important. Update: After being closed for nearly three years, Al Jazeera is now open again and their menu is as tasty as ever! They're back—definitely worth a visit!
We visited this cozy little restaurant tonight for the first time. Excellent food and service. The people who work here are very friendly. Very diverse menu. They specialize in Yemeni and Ethiopian food. We shared the vegetarian platter, which is Ethiopian. We also shared a pot of wonderful Middle Eastern tea, boiled with milk, cardamon, sugar, and maybe some saffron. We will be back.
Al Jazeera is undoubtedly the top Yemeni restaurant in the DMV area! Their menu features incredibly fresh dishes that are generously portioned and very affordable. I’m truly grateful to Chef Abeer for preparing such amazing, flavorful meals. I will be recommending Al Jazeera to everyone I know! Réservez une table maintenant

I was very hungry today, and Abeer recommended the Mandy platter. The meat was amazing—so flavorful and incredibly tender. The service was outstanding too. I will definitely return to order the same dish!
The best Yemeni food I’ve ever had in the US, especially in the DMV area. The owner is very friendly and hardworking! He definitely deserves a big thumbs up.
