Alandas Fish And Chip Shop

Visited the Fish Chip Van at Longniddry after a nice day in North Berwick. The van itself does sell some other goodies, mainly fish related, but they do also sell burgers and gelato, drinks etc. Price wise, it's what I was expecting to be honest. Most high-end places are near enough a tenner for a fish supper so I wasn't overly surprised Alandas were priced at for a supper. for a kids portion, which is basically half a fish with chips. The food was good, nothing more, nothing less. The fish was tasty and not overly greasy, although it wasn't overly meaty. Chips were nothing out of the ordinary as far as chippy chips go. So we’ve eaten here at Longniddry Bents a couple of times. The fish and chips is lovely and the service has been great. Having said that the prices are high and if you sit back and think about it, too high for what it actually is. Portions can be a little meagre, I presume al a carte not what they mean to offer. The fish was small but looks bigger with the batter on it by quite a way.

The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious. I ordered the Fish and Chips, and it definitely lived up to its reputation! The fish was fresh and substantial, the batter was crispy and light, and the chips had a nice crunch to them. I'm salivating just thinking about it... I'm going to order another portion right away. The service is for takeout, and I had it for dinner.

What a rip off! I’ll easily pay £4.50 for a portion of chip at The Fringe, but it needs to be for a half decent portion! The portion I was served would have barely fed a half dead amoebae! This was the worst fish and chips I have ever eaten. The fish was coated in grease and it was disgusting! The service was terrible and the atmosphere was lacking. I do not recommend this restaurant.
