A REAL review of Albertson Seafood Market!Okay so I've been going here since the new ownership which is quite a number of years. It used to be Jericho Seafood but apparently there's been a change of the guard.I've read a one reviewer (a Google local guide actually which is sad that they are not properly educated regarding seafood) complain about lobsters not being fully cleaned since the FDA issued a warning in 2008 about Tomalley being toxic. Yes so can Apricots! But you don't go eating 100 Apricots in one sitting! Tomalley in American (Maine) lobsters contain a substance called polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) which in extremely large quantities can be toxic. Other than that eating the Tom...

I’ve been a loyal customer for several years, ever since it transitioned from Jericho Seafood to its current ownership. Recently, I stumbled upon a review from a Google Local Guide expressing disappointment with the lobster, referencing a 2008 FDA warning about tomalley. While it’s true that tomalley can contain potentially harmful substances in large quantities, consuming the tomalley from just one or two lobsters is generally safe. I feel the need to address that review for being a bit misinformed! On another note, I came across a different Google review that portrayed this place as a five-star restaurant, complete with complaints about the wine and waitstaff. Seriously? This is a grocery...

I wish I can give them a zero. I called in advance to get fish. I gave them my credit card number and asked how late they were open. I told them that I need curbside pick up and asked if they still do that. She said yes. For the past 2 years since covid, I have gone there many many times. Always I pay in advance and they come out and hand me the fish. So when I asked her today if they can do that she said yes. What she should have said is no and I would be ok with that since it is the holidays. I called from the car to say that I was outside and to give them my order number. Couldn't get through for 20 minutes. Then I got thtough only to be put on hold and hung up on repeatedly. When I final...

My family has been a loyal customer for 20 years, particularly enjoying their lobsters during the holiday season. Recently, I ordered two lobsters and specifically asked for them to be killed and cleaned. Unfortunately, they left the tomalley, the green substance, inside, and I only discovered it after cooking. The FDA warns against consuming tomalley as it can be potentially toxic. When I called the store to discuss the cleaning issue, Giovanna was dismissive and showed little concern for my feedback as a long-time customer. I've also noticed that the market has changed ownership and is no longer affiliated with Syosset Seafood. The service has declined, especially when picking up orders du... My family has been a loyal customer for 20 years, especially during the holidays when we buy lobsters. Recently, I ordered two lobsters that were supposed to be killed and cleaned. However, they left the tomalley (the green substance) inside, and I only noticed it after they were cooked. The FDA advises against eating tomalley due to its potential toxicity. When I called the store to address the issue, Giovanna dismissed my concerns and showed no interest in keeping a longtime customer satisfied. I’ve also noticed that the market has changed ownership and is no longer associated with Syosset Seafood. Additionally, the store is poorly managed, especially during the busy holiday season when pi...

I worked here 38 years ago and was happy to return. The staff answered all my historical over the years questions and I enjoyed the walk down memory lane. Great clean market, every item setup neat. Sure, many changes, and you have to feature a shark on the back wall for the kids ?! Fresh fish and deli/counter items abound, all mouth watering. My dad loved the fresh flounder I made for Him that evening, but really I could have enjoyed much more. All items appealing, with many aesthetic store developments, and great items. Yes, the mermaid picture is still there from the 70 's! ????

They truly exceeded my expectations! I recently moved from Florida to New York and had been struggling to find Florida fish at a reasonable price. However, they went out of their way to order me just 4 pounds at market price. They not only skinned and cut it into the portions I requested but also individually wrapped each piece for me. I ordered the mahi mahi on a Friday and received a call on Tuesday morning that it had arrived. Everyone was friendly and incredibly helpful! I highly recommend this market to anyone looking for excellent quality, pricing, and service.

The prices may be a bit steep, but if you're in search of fresh, high-quality seafood, this is the place to visit. The owner is also very friendly! Réservez une table maintenant

The steamers I purchased here were underwhelming once I got home. On the other hand, the soft shell crabs were sizable and extremely delicious.
