Letting 12 months go by and being locals to the area our last visit to this restaurant was extremely disappointing. Seems nothing has changed. Not having too much expectations my partner and I were seated down at a table for 4 people, the surplus cutlery remained at the table looking out of place and I would assume stay there and be reused when the table is to be reset/turned over once we had finished our dining experience. Not a good start but that was nothing compared to our order. Garlic pizza bread sliced/cut into 8th (perfect) very tasty and good soft pizza base. Bruschetta was one of the worst i have ever had. Staying at the Lake Placid Holiday Park 20 minutes out of Cairns next door to the park is Lake Placid and this lovely Italian restaurant overlooking the lake. Excellent menu and wine list the food beautiful authentic Italian cuisine and wood fired pizza's. My only concern and other guests there seemed to be not enough waiters even one more would have made the service better. Overall nice staff, lovely food if looking for a nice Italian dining experience give them a call and book a table.
Setting absolutely perfect however that's where I will leave it only sell overseas beers and Italian wines to expensive I wanted a pizza with prawns calamari and anchovies the chef advised he could not provide my request,so I ordered spaghetti which had all of the ingredients that I wanted on the pizzaYou should be able to request a dish that you can at least eatWith little effort this could have been achieved and they would have had a satisfied customer
With a lake view second to no one Alessandro's in Lake Placid is my favourite lunch spot. Just visited it again with my son for lunch Saturday. The famous italian aperitivo Aperol based spritz is a must. Beautiful wood fired pizza with Italian sausage and friarelli is a rarety... Espresso and fresh made tiramisu put a beautiful frame to a tasteful experience. The most relaxed environment and friendly staff. A real hidden gem.

We went down and booked for Saturday night, had a really great meal, garlic bread was unusual and tasty, we both had pasta which was also great, service was good with friendly staff and owners, and their Tiramisu was to die for, light and tasty, very nice outlook of Lake Placid, thank you all for a fantastic meal
The food was great - some of the best Pizza I have had in Australia. Beautiful lake view completes a great food experience. Only thing is that they need to get better staff. The working vacation types just really did not cut it - nice but very amateur. Regardless, Would return again for the food!
What a great restaurant tucked away in lake placid. We had dinner and enjoyed a lovely meal. Food was fantastic and so was the service. We then returned on the weekend and ordered a take away pizza which was amazing.
We are Italian and very picky about our own food. This is a real authentic Italian restaurant and the food is fantastic and very well cooked! We went for lunch today and will be back for dinner bery soon!!
