Thanks for a great experience, folks! Any restaurant has two main assets their food, and their staff. I'll start with the staff. In a word, wonderful. Attentive but not intrusive, friendly, fast, and perfectly accommodating. The food is superb. Steaks cooked to perfection. Mile high flame in the saganaki (ok, maybe not a mile, but it was spectacular). Duck wasn't overcooked. Perfect amount of seasonings in everything. Vegetables fresh and flavourful. The restaurant is small and I expected to hear every word from other tables, but I was pleasantly surprised that voices don't seem to carry. The music isn't overly loud either, so our party didn't have to yell to hear each other. I can't come up...
Just an amazing place to eat. You will need a reservation as this is a small restaurant with amazing food.The tomato bisque was delicious and hot. It was gin infused which gave it a bit of a tang.The smoked duck appetizer was very subtle but had a definite smoke flavour. The jam it came with was delicious and really added some sweetness.The pork was tender, nicely cooked, and had an amazing mushroom sauce. The roasted vegetables had some crisp.The steak was perfectly cooked and the sauce didn't hide the beef flavour but did add flavour.The cheesecake had a delicate creamy texture and was the second best I have had in a restaurant. My wife really enjoyed the baked meringue.
Wow, this was the best meal I have ever had. We didn't want this dining experience to end! Starting from the homemade blue cheese dressing on the salad, to the white asparagus with the daily delicious shrimp special, and ending with the homemade dessert, everything was amazing. Chef Thomas, you are incredibly talented! The decor was cute, the servers were friendly, and the food was to die for. If only I lived in Cranbrook so I could enjoy this restaurant more often!
The menu at this restaurant is very unique, combining delicious flavors. We thoroughly enjoyed all of our choices and would definitely recommend this place. The only downside was that they could improve their cocktail menu as they did not have a bourbon sour available. However, this did not take away from the overall amazing dining experience. We walked in without a reservation and took the four seats left at the bar. We are so glad we did. The two waitresses were so friendly and accommodating. Thomas the owner and cook made our amazing meals in this quaint restaurant setting. A must when travelling to Cranbrook, BC. Don’t forget to pick up some of Thomas homemade products to go.
The restaurant offers a variety of dishes on a smaller menu, but each one was delicious. The dessert was exceptional and they also had some interesting drink options. The prices were reasonable and worth what they charge. The hostess and waitress were very friendly.
