I was very impressed with this restaurant. I dined here with my partner and her family, and almost everything we ordered was exceptional, except for the mules which were not worth mentioning. My meal, the mushroom steak with kartoffeln, was particularly outstanding. The steak was cooked perfectly and presented beautifully, topped generously with delicious mushrooms and just the right amount of sauce. The potatoes on the side were some of the best boiled potatoes I have ever tasted. The cornbread and Riesling were delicious, but we had trouble opening the wine bottle. Despite the server's difficulty, we managed to open it and discovered it had no cap or cork, which was a manufacturing mistake. The oyster plate was disappointing, with tasteless overboiled oysters and a small serving of bland coleslaw. The French fries were good, but not the main attraction of the meal. The clam chowder and desserts were decent, particularly the cannoli. Overall, I would rate this restaurant 3 stars, as there may be better options on the menu. The oyster plate was a major letdown and should never be served as a special.
Very friendly place but unfortunately we did not find it as fine dining. We were first served cornbread that was very undercooked and doughy along with a white bread that was cold and dried out. My husbands meal did not taste right and later made him sick. I ordered lasagna and it was mostly a meat sauce. Ladies restroom needed some work and to be cleaned. If you are looking for fine dining and great food I would not recommend. Sorry but this restaurant should not be listed as fine dining.
not sure how this place remains open. eating is very fair. my dessert was stiff. painful 25 jul, 2010 bad. our experience here was bad everywhere. eating was less than moderate and the presentation was sloppy. there were 6 foods on my teller and none of them was good. service was terrible; only 4 tables were occupied on a beautiful Friday night and our server could simply not be harassed with the care of us. will not come back.
