We have been staying at the Rialto for the weekend and went to the Market Lane Bar after an evening at the theatre. It was a great place to go to conclude the evening. Upon arrival staff greeted us and gave us a food and beverage menu. We ordered drinks from the bar and they arrived swiftly. The lighting and seating seating arrangements created a relaxing ambience where we could enjoy time with our family. Later we ordered food which included arancini ball, buffalo wings and fries all with dipping sauces. We were informed about when the bar was closing and the services that would be still available. The staff were attentive and the service impeccable. Thank you !

So I arrive here on a Saturday night for a few drinks before bed. I sit down and wait 10 minutes for a waiter to swing by. No menu, just a request for my drink order which I gladly give, being a Pernod and lemonade....This is delivers soon in a tall glass. WTF. I’m nota lady and so give me a drink in a short glass with some ice you idiot. Anyway with in a few minutes a couple of ladies sit in the table next to me. Immediately they are given a glass of water and some bar snacks. Ummm what about me ! No, apparently single white males are not what gets the attention here so even trying to get a refill is impossible. Poor at best.

wanted a warm filling soup on a rainy late night but the only thing available was tomato soup. i asked if it comes with bread and they said "oh then we have to make it just for you as this is a bar, we're not a restaurant". I was like, which western restaurant only serve you soup without bread?!? after several mins of hustle, they finally decided they will ask the kitchen to bring me some bread too. i ordered some portabello mushroom too which was ok given this dish in australia in general will be good anyway, not just in this restaurant.

My companion had stayed at the InterContinental years ago and was revisiting, so she was interested to see how the hotel's bars and restaurants were presenting themselves these days. On an early weekday evening the Market Lane Bar was not busy. We were able to...make ourselves comfortable in corner seating with pleasant lighting and talk easily without competing with loud music or big boisterous groups. Wait staff were exceptionally attentive. I'd return if wanting to meet up for a quiet drink. Réservez une table maintenant

went here with some girlfriends for high tea on a saturday. the espresso martini included was lovely as was the alternative champagne. however, the food was awful! the quiche weren't cooked through and sandwiches were stale. scones (if you could call them that) were the...size of 20c piece! the quality of the food was extremely disappointing. service was great though. also do not order extra drinks on top of the ones included as the price is actually crazy! i will not ever be going back here

It's not so common these days for staff behind the bar to recall your order and cater to you as if you were the only customer in the venue. These guys do this to perfection!!!!

Great spot to meet others for a drink while your waiting. Excellent choice and grab something to eat while you're at it.
