DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!! Horrible service! Horrible food! The hostess was nice, sat us and the. It all went down hill quickly. We asked for regular water and ended up paying $8 a bottle for water we didn’t ask for! They charged us $5 for each glass of regular ice tea! (The second glass of ice tea, that was ordered half way through the meal, came right before we got our check! The carne asada tacos didn’t have any flavor and the fillings were all peppers, hardly any meat! We were asked if we wanted Mexican rice and beans, and upon receiving our food, they only had white rice. Our daughter ordered cheese quesadilla and fries but we wanted her to have some meat and they charged us doub...
This is a review of what not to experience at a restaurant. To start off we were a party of 4 and they sat us at a dirty table. There was spilled water on the table with glasses upside down which was turned over to serve us water. The 1st order was mixed drink which did not arrive until after our main dishes. Yes, that included after entreas and then main dish did the drink arrive. Also, one of the orders was not complete but we did not complaint because at this point we knew things weren't going well. I observe no staff helping each other, I can see some were new to their roles/responsibilities/job, no management/leadership. The only positive subject to point out were the guacamole and sals...
The restaurant itself is beautiful and wasn't too loud which gave a good atmosphere and an enjoyable dining experience. The service was typical for Los Angeles, not very friendly with very few check ins, but once you placed an order food came out quickly. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't great. For three beef tacos, it was $35 and the flavor was flat. The ceviche and the elote were a little more flavorful but still not memorable. They offered Mexican craft beers but they weren't available when we went and I had to settle for your standard beer options. Overall it was very pricey for mediocre food but it was a good dining experience thanks to the atmosphere.
Great service! Our server, Max, amazing. The manager, gracious and attentive. But yikes, the sticker shock. 2 orders of tacos (2 tacos per order, we did not opt for additional rice and beans), one cocktail, one beer, with tax and tip came to $78 smackers. I know that all restos have had to raise prices. And I am more than willing to pay up for quality. But even for the best tacos in LA--which these were not--that's a hard pill to swallow.
