That would be a visit to the Alma Boathouse !On a side trip though NB earlier in the year I stopped in at one of the few places open at the time in ALMA. Janice was so friendly and helpful I stopped in again two months later with my Niece visiting from Alberta. Both times the service was friendly and very good, albeit the second trip things were hopping in the downtown core, the tourist season having got underway. In April I saw three cars in town, the next go round I had to park in the civic lot up the hill from the Boathouse.Apart from the rowboat that must have got wedged in the rafters of the restaurant at an extremely high tide, it's nothing fancy... but, I had a very good BLT while niec...

We were recommended this restaurant and had high expectations as well as were looking forward to the lobster. In fairness we did arrive near closing after a long day of travelling. Instead of telling us there was a limited menu due to the hour, we ordered the seafood bucket and were told later that the chef was "too tired" to make it because he was working all day. They wouldn't do a single lobster either so on the third try the waitress accepted our order. The portions were small and expensive. The chowder was great and I actually wish that was all I ordered but instead paid a high price for an overall average meal.

We stopped in Alma for lunch on our way to some sight seeing and walked by this restaurant. The food looked appealing from what we could see on the patio. We both ordered lobster rolls, one with fries and one with seafood chowder. The service was decent enough but the lobster rolls were average tasting (My fiancé is from new brunswick and found the lobster had very little taste. That was his opinion) but the seafood chowder was tasty. I had glimpsed at the prices when ordering but somehow our lunch came to $50. If you're willing to pay that then great, but could be expensive if you have to pay for a group/kids

We stopped in Alma on the way to Hopewell Rocks for a bite to eat. We chose Alma Boathouse as it claimed to have the best seafood chowder in the maritimes. Well they were not wrong, the chowder was superb, full of seafood and it had a great taste. I have to mention the toast which was served with the chowder. It was covered with an awesome lobster butter, I would have happily just eaten this it was that good. My wife had a lobster roll which was also excellent and not covered in seafood sauce which sometimes seems to happen. It's a pity I will not get the chance to go back this trip. The Boathouse was recommended by a staff member at another tourist site. She made a great recommendation! It isn't much to look at. The interior décor is minimal. All that is irrelevant when you sink your teeth into the food ... the seafood dishes are excellent. The service is great! It's a popular restaurant given that the indoor and outdoor seating is always full.We highly recommend the Boathouse for a delicious lunch!!

We stopped in Alma en route from St Johns to Moncton. We checked out a few of the local restaurants and opted for this one. We are very glad we did. The chowder was out of this world, the 1 piece of haddock and fries was superb (glad we did not order 2 pieces). Our waitress Leeann (hope I got her name right!!) was great fun and obliging. Highly recommend.

Pleasant staff, average decor. Quite happy until the fish and chips came. From then on we just looked at each other and over and over cooed about the best ever. We come from Whitstable in England and should know fish and chips. Definately the best in our 70 years.

We were late getting to the restaurant with hungry, unruly kids and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Price was ok, and food was quite good. Chowder was very tasty! Réservez une table maintenant
