In comparison to my favorite, Hawaii Poke Bowl, there are some pros and cons. The middle bowl was the perfect size for me, but it wasn’t much cheaper than Hawaii Poke. I appreciated that the shells for all three sizes or the build-your-own option were priced the same. The shrimp was cut into pieces, which was a change, but it didn’t taste as good as what I had at Hawaii. They offered boiled items, as well as canned and fountain drinks, but unfortunately, cilantro wasn’t available; that’s something I really enjoy and would have liked to have. When she arrived, she scanned her points, but the staff informed her that she couldn't use them unless she placed an order. So, she went ahead and placed an order and paid for it. When she picked it up, they had only prepared one item, which confused her. I always order bowls and I've already accumulated 6,600 points. This is the second time I've tried to redeem points for a free bowl. However, the new staff member refused to accept my points. She told me that I needed to pay for the food first before I could use my points. This confused me because I thought I could eat one and then pick up another. After I paid full price, she informed me that I still couldn't use my points. The service was poor! Additionally, she asked me a lot of personal questions about my job and where I'm from. Poke bowls can be fantastic when prepared properly. We visited during dinner and noticed that there were only two other diners present. I believe the experience could be much better than what we had, so I'm hesitant to make any negative comments. I plan to give it another try this summer. The location is nice, though! Fast service for poke, served in a style reminiscent of Chipotle. I appreciated the variety of sparkling water options and the wide range of ingredients available.
