The sun terrace at the Alpengasthof Muttersberg is well worth a visit for a lunch of a lifetime. Taking a cable-car/ski lift to the top it's a stroll round to the terrace over a pond (So cram-packed with wildlife that it will have the kids fascinated for ages) and out on to the deck of the sun terrace itself. The views are stunning looking over Bludenz in the valley bottom over towards Brand and Montafon and on-wards.The deck is enormous with plenty of seating for what seems to be hundreds of people and the gasthof itself is spacious and beautiful inside; so what ever the weather you'll have somewhere to sit and something to admire. There were plenty of staff serving and it didn't take us long to get either our drinks or our meals all of which were lovely and inexpensive (considering the location) The salads were fresh and huge and the Mu Berg a worthy burger..although I should have had the Tiroler Speckknödel...or perhaps both. The only word of caution I would add is that if your plan, like ours, is to cable up, enjoy the food and the view and then walk down; it is either quite a steep taxing walk or a long and winding walk back to the car park at the cable-car station. And whist the routes are marked it is still a little confusing at times which path you are on. I suppose it gives you a chance to walk off the huge lunch and the couple of beers you had.Really worth a visit bit do plan properly.
