we traveled with two colleagues to business and walked on a walk from our hotel in old simpl. we had no reservation, but they couldn't have been more nice to sit on the bar and bring English menus. two of us had the turkey, the very good was a great part with riders and one had the cheese spatzle, also very good. service was great and the atmosphere was the perfect German neighboring restaurant.
This place was a delightful surprise, because it is surrounded by modern, shops, and many global chain stores. This restaurant stood out, because the menu had many choices of things we wanted to eat, as well has having the classic restaurant feel. We were impressed at the food, happy atmosphere and friendly service. I look forward to going back here again and again.
from all dressed we had the bark broth with thin sliced crepes was the best. fries were sponge, soggy, the Wiener schnitzel was a previously frozen convenience product, but with the quintessential German court rinderroulade the kitchen was kreatiw: an ultra thin shaved bark cut. in a mysterious filling, that was it. taste and tick the worst. service was not good.
I wanted a really traditional carving. what I had was good, but not the best ever had- with a huge salat with beautiful dressing. service excellent, a traditional tube atmosphere and very busy at thinned out after I wished the trip advisor...has an option between and star that where I had slit. Great authentic German food! They have English menus and the staff all speaks good English. Food was amazing and this was the best meal we had all trip!
