The old town of Wernigerode showed a little brittle during our visit, numerous construction sites compelled certain detours. Also two restaurants of interest in principle had larger construction sites right outside the door, and the service could not guarantee that the construction site noise would not start again. A little further, the “Brauhaus” seemed to be an option, but when it came close, it was found to be a Turkish restaurant that we had no desire. But a few steps further we found the restaurant and guest house at the Nicolaiplatz right at the corner of the Nicolaiplatz, where there was just one free table outside. Very nice restaurant attached to the Pension Nicolaiplatz. Nice open space, bright and airy, comfortable but not crowded tables.Just dinner for one on my last night in town. Started with a delicious chicken soup with mushrooms - very tasty. On to the main course - Forsterschnitzel - schnitzel with mushrooms and, of course - a side of potatoes. Perfect portion - not too big, not too small. And yummy.Nice, friendly staff. And able to work with my limited, OK almost non-existent - German language skills. Right on the main street through town. Make sure to take a stroll to enjoy the night air and work off some of the calories
Von diesem Restaurant waren wir sehr enttäuscht, die Lage ist top, aber Ambiente, Service und Speisen lassen stark zu wünschen übrig! Das Essen hätte auch genauso gut von einer Tankstelle kommen können. Das Schnitzel hat nach altem Friteusen-Fett geschmeckt, die dazugehörige Soße mit Paprika und Ananas (klingt schon komisch und schmeckt auch so) hat stark nach Dosenfutter geschmeckt und war überhaupt nicht lecker. Rotkraut und Gulasch waren in Ordnung, aber lecker ist auf jeden Fall etwas anderes. Unserer Meinung nach sollte man einen großen Bogen um das Restaurant machen!
Eine tolle Location mit sehr leckeren Essen. Wir waren schon öfter hier und sind immer wieder begeistert, wie hier "gutbürgerlich" mit "modern" verwoben werden. Der Salat hat ein ausgezeichnetes, eigenes Dressing, was auf Nachfrage wohl wirklich selbstgemacht ist. Und zu einer Feier hatten wir mal einen herrlichen Früchte-Schokoladen-Spiegel, quasi ein Gemälde von einem Nachtisch! Aber auch die sehr knusprigen Schnitzel sind der absolute Hammer. Wir waren auf Grund von vielen geschlossen Restaurants in diesem. Die Bedienung war flink, aber etwas Maulfaul. Das Teufelsfleisch war weder teuflisch Scharf noch lecker. Es wirkte wie eine Fertigsoße mit Schredderfleisch. Die Bratkartoffeln waren Schmackhaft und auf den Punkt. Leider war es nur die Beilage! Zusätzlich hatten wir das Curryhuhn. Auch hier wirkte es, als hätte jemand vor langer Zeit vorgekocht und wieder aufgewärmt. Alles in allem wird dieser Laden nicht unser Lieblingsplatz.
The hotel is very well situated in the middle of Wernigerode. The room was very large modern and clean, excellent for the price.Outside of the room was a very nice corner with a large table and seats, so that late in the evening we could drink the rest of the wine we purchased in the restaurant. Across from the hotel is a fantastic beer house, where we spent a Saturday evening. Good music and awesome food.
Feuerfleisch war Schweinefleisch mit sehr viel Bindegewebe (= Abfall), viel Soße, wenig Fleisch, sehr mild (wieso dann Feuerfleisch), Hirschgoulasch war sehr durchwachsen (das geht besser). Hätten wir nur bei uns im Hotel gegessen (4-Sterne HKK-Hotel). Nachher hatten wir Hunger!!!!!
Vi spiste aftensmad 2 gange Am Nicolaiplatz og begge gange var det gode store portioner vi fik.God tysk mad, lavet fra bunden og meget velsmagende. Jeg bestilte ved første besøg en Schnitzel med Champignon ala'creme. Det smagte rigtigt godt.Anden gang fik jeg en virkelig god steak. Réservez une table maintenant
