The hotel is very well situated in the middle of Wernigerode. The room was very large modern and clean, excellent for the price. Outside of the room was a very nice corner with a large table and seats, so that late in the evening we could drink the rest of the wine we purchased in the restaurant. Across from the hotel is a fantastic beer house, where we spent a Saturday evening. Good music and awesome food.
We had food here without research and what luck! Quietly busy with German so thought it must be okay. We had to ask if they took visas, what they did. The waitress was very helpful even if her English was limited. I had trout and my wife had escalope. Both where very nice and with 2 big beers the bill was 34 euros that we thought was quietly reasonable. Beautiful meal and beautiful atmosphere.
Like many restaurants in Wernigerode, the menu was locally fair, but nicely cooked and probably better presented than many. The costs were reasonable and the staff very pleasant. We prefer to eat away from flies and wasps inside, but we need to put up with it and eat outside for some reason. It was much more convenient to eat. Would recommend.
