The food, hot chocolate, and chocolate lattes are excellent. The service is fantastic as well. Although the dining room is small, it is comfortable and the seating is pleasant. It can be a bit expensive—breakfast for two may cost around $40—but it's still worth a visit. My wife, who hails from Ecuador, mentioned that the salt levels have been notably lowered from the traditional recipes to appeal to California customers.
Wow I just visited a former haunt and I am wondering why I don't visit this place more often. The food and drinks are the best in the area. The staff is courteous and well trained. And the owner Amara is a delight. If you have a chance make sure you stop by.

I had a fantastic dining experience with exceptional service and delicious food, including plenty of gluten-free options. The Venezuelan-style hot chocolate was delightful and dairy-free!
The best, crunchy, not oily churros in town. Worth the visit for them alone but the coffee, arepas, chocolate and food make Amara even better. Not to be missed. Viva Venezuela!
