I had high expectations for this restaurant. Tempura prawn starter was first class, excellent. However it went downhill from here. I had lamb chops, which initially looked good. The meat was tasty, however the fat had not been rendered/ cooked at all and was inedible. My wife had seafood crepes, with an excessive amount of a watery sauce. The crepes contained minimal pieces of seafood and due to the watery sauce the plate quickly descended into a gloopy mess. After our mains dishes were cleared, we were left unattended for 25 minutes without the offer of a desert menu or spoken to in any way. Fed up waiting, we signalled for the bill and left. After a good start we won’t be in a hurry to return.
Seated quickly and service was good and friendly. However, the food was pretty average. Portions are fairly generous but the pizza dough looked like it came out of a freezer and not even cooked through. We ordered the fish and chips and the fish was like a couple of big fish fingers but with skin left on within the batter, which wasn’t very nice. Steak was tasty but 50% of it was fat and gristle so a little underwhelming. Overall not a great dining experience.
I found this restaurant just off the main beach side strip of the town and decided it was the place we had to go for our last day of holiday, fantastic all round, food was excellent and the service was not rushed but attentive, our girls loved its relaxed vibe. Waiter's were knowledgeable about the wines, friendly and the portion sizes were great also all was very fresh. Definitely would come back here again.
