Such a great atmosphere, hidden in a suburban landscape just up the street from Macca's the Antique Bar is a place you must visit if you are in the area.Great decor, like sitting in an old lounge area, surrounded by bottles and lamps and velvet. Great wine list. Friendly staff.Basic food but tasty and good value.Excellent place to catch up with friends, or even for a more intimate evening with someone close.Simply wonderful!
Great bar, with, on a Friday night, some amazing live music by Renae Brennen. Lovely atmosphere, decor and settings, with lots of different 'nooks and crannies'.Downside - the charcuterie board is okay, albeit a bit sparce for what you pay. Drinks are expensive. And just don't do the pizzas! Brought in from a local pizza place (I assume), they were tasteless and low quality. Pity.
I was taken to this bar by a local in Melbourne, and wow.The moment you enter the bar, you can already tell the ambience is something incredibly unique. The whole decor is so turn-of-the-century esque. From the old pictures littered on the wall to the glowing fireplaces and music from that era. This was perfectly complimented by us enjoying a delightful hot cup of mulled red wine!
Having spent a good sum of money over several hours, unfortunately a very good evening of cocktails and a great venue was tarnished by some simple staff errors being turned into "big issues" and the blame being laid at the customers feet! The Manager was great at trying to sort it out but some of the staff have serious attitude "I don't have to apologise - you don't own me". Réservez une table maintenant
Gorgeous bar with friendly staff and amazing range of boutique beers and great wines. They also do good cocktails. Food is limited but you're not really there to eat! Blink and you'd miss it. There is no flashy signage ... discrete and only for those in the know. Turn left outside Elsternwick station and walk 500 m.
This place is a maze of rooms, which is cool. It's super cozy, would be good for a first date. The drinks are well made and they have an excellent cocktail menu. The food was great, but I think they might be in the wrong part of town.
My husband and I chose a couple of classic cocktails which were prepared very nicely. The decor is very authentic, I guess, but not really my style. It's not tacky though, all done with style.
