not sure if this entry only regarding the cheese factory showroom I wrote a separate review about it. it's about the restaurant. we went directly to the restaurant, as we were hungry and look forward to a great meal. it was a warm and sunny day so we sat outside, there are many tables. the service was very friendly (different people), efficient and professional. eating well, just amazing. give us something with cheese every day, especially appenzell cheese! we started with the cream cheese soup and wow, it was so full in taste, so creamy and thick! they must try it even though it is a heavy starter! my wife went for the rösti with ham and much cheese on it plus a fried egg, I had the same an...
Die Appenzeller Schaukäserei ist ziemlich klein. Es gibt lediglich ein Fenster wo man der Produktion zugucken kann. Auch die Informationstafeln lassen sich innerhalb von 30 min durchlesen. Zu Beginn hat jeder eine kleine Box mit den verschiedenen Appenzeller Käsesorten erhalten (ein kleiner Käsewürfel pro Sorte) und einen kleinen Beutel, welchen man später mit Kräuter befüllen konnte. Der Käse war lecker, aber der Beutel mit den Kräutern überflüssig. Ich hatte mir die ganze Ausstellung wesentlich größer vorgestellt. Im Endeffekt fand ich den Eintritt von 14 Fr ziemlich heftig für so eine kleine Ausstellung. Der Käse ist trotzdem lecker, aber wir hätten auch direkt an die Käsetheke gehen könn...

Cheese salad etc. Very idyllic setting with great view to the mountains. Excellent choice after an Santis...mountain excursion (that 's where we Highly recommend the Brunches with Original Folk Music and a breath taking view.

Interessanter Ort für Käseliebhaber. Viele gute und recht preiswerte Gerichte. Allerdings mussten wir am Sonntag für eine Käseschnitte und eine Appenzeller Pinsa fast eine Stunde warten. Die Begründung, dass halt alles frisch gemacht wird, hat uns nicht wirklich überzeugt. Immerhin hat es gut geschmeckt.
Nice to see the production of the cheese but don't ever eat outside in summer: too many bees!! Maybe I am a little paranoid on the subject but you really can't stay outside drinking a beer while bees try to drink from your own bottle...too. I was obliged to escape from them and go eating elsewhere :
Sehr nettes Team, herzlich und gastfreundlich auch gegenüber den Busfahrern. Urgemütlich umd sehenswert. Sehr guter Käse aber auch sehr gute Küche wie auch der Service. Vielen Dank dafür! Empfehlenswert in vielerlei Hinsicht
