Applebee's Grill Bar

The manager was very friendly, and the food was quite good, but our waitress was quite rude. As soon as we sat down, she immediately asked for our orders. I tried to order drinks first to have some time to look at the menu, but she insisted on knowing what we wanted to eat right after I placed our drink order, even though it was clear I was still trying to open the menu. I ended up just ordering the first thing I saw. Later, I wanted to buy a dessert for my little one, but she hurried him out after he finished eating. While the food was enjoyable and the manager made an effort to say hello, we felt rushed and unwelcomed.

The food was excellent and the service was fantastic, but I found Applebee's policy regarding gift cards to be quite disappointing. I tried to use a gift card, only to be informed that it had expired. Who still does this? They claim that gift cards are equivalent to cash, and if that's the case, they shouldn’t have an expiration date! The money I spent to buy the gift card doesn’t expire, so why should their cards? This poor business policy reflects a lack of sound corporate judgment. Their desire to profit from a few extra dollars could end up backfiring on them.

The experience was decent. I really dislike how the seating arrangement is so cramped; it felt like everyone was on top of each other. There weren't many occasions where they offered to seat us away from other guests, even when there were empty tables available. It didn't make sense to pass by ten empty tables just to squeeze between two occupied ones. The service was fairly average, and it was disappointing that no one asked us about our order until we had finished eating and were waiting for the check.

I had to return my steak twice because it was still dripping with blood when I ordered it well done. By the time I received it again, it was burned, and the rest of my food was cold. At least I did receive a discount.
