I am gluten free and vegetarian so when I saw online that AppleYard did a veggie Sunday lunch it seemed the perfect place for a Father’s Day lunch. When we arrived it turns out that the veggie lunch is just the vegetables with no ‘main’ whereas on the website it said there was a cheesy polenta cake. Also they don’t do any veg gravy. So I agreed to have a plate of veg with a cream sauce that was supposed to go with another meal. When it arrived it was a plate of very undercooked roasted vegetables, the parsnips were undercooked and pale, the potatoes were floppy with no crispiness you expect with roast potatoes and generally it was an extremely disappointing plate of food. The restaurant was nice on arrival, they took our order, the starters were lovely. Then we waited and waited for mains to be told chef list our order? We were given bread and padron peppers we didn’t complain. When the main arrived my friends chicken was red inside, she was fed up by this stage as it was getting late my friend and I were not impressed by the main hers was bland and mine had a funny sauce- didn’t compliment the fish at all. We were given a discount and a free drink but really wanted a nice meal. Think they need a better chef
Wonderful atmosphere, absolutely delicious food. New lady was training and charming. So brilliant service overall. The fact that it was my birthday meal (even though stated in the booking) didn’t seem to be acknowledged which is the only reason in wouldn’t give it 10/10. We will still most probably come back soon!. ????
This little find exceeded all our expectations. My partner is half-Spanish and was very impressed by the authenticity of the food. Everything we ate was delicious, the staff were very friendly and attentive, and the prices reasonable. Will be returning!

Lovely restaurant with veryy attentive staff. The food looked great and tasted almost as good as it looked. Food was decent value for money, but eight quid for a small glass of wine was too much.
that is a fantastic little restaurant. personal service and warm intrusive yet stylish ambiente. we had to start the muddles, followed by sucking dicks. with a bottle house red. delicious.
What a gem of a place we found!! Was are first time here. The food was amazing… service was relaxed but attentive. Susana was brilliant. Will definitely be coming back!!
Delicious food and such a lovely atmosphere. Our food wasn't rushed out to us and we felt like we could relax and enjoy ourselves. The mojitos were also really good!
