So, I've been in baskenland for two weeks. I have eaten in three Michelin star restaurants and loved 2 of the three. I also ate in a small, hard to find back room restaurant in mutriku, a beautiful fishing village 40 km below san sebastian. it is called piper and it is now my favorite restaurant. it is not unusual, and it is a little hard to find, but it is the best fish cooker I had. the chef piper, is so in his eating that he brought an uncooked hake on our table to show us which sections were used in one of our dishes. the Hake-Pilpilole was perfect. the monk was 100% the best I have eaten...Period before this place is too busy to eat, they can talk to the chef about cooking, basque kitch...
Guiados por las buenas opiniones nos decidimos por Piper. Lugar muy agradable con varios ambientes (terraza, interior y comedor). Estuvimos en el comedor, tranquilo, buena música, bonito. Buena atención de todo el personal, y lo mejor, con una sonrisa que se agradece. Pedimos ensalada de tomate y atún para compartir (un lujo diferente y nada convencional que sorprende) y merluza (simplemente deliciosa). Al día siguiente repetimos, pero en esta ocasión tomamos en la barra unos pinchos de tortilla de bacalao (mmmm), chipirines plancha y una riquísima tarta de queso auténtica. Lo recomiendo sin duda. El precio es acorde con la calidad. Lo recomiendo.
Maravilloso todo. Un producto excelente con una elaboración impecable. Pescado de calidad en estado puro:merluza, cabracho y besugo. Relación calidad precio ajustada a la calidad. had the barbel in greener sauce - they were quite boring and the brot tasted not fresh, but service was excellent and the female barkeeper spoke somewhat English. I have the feeling that the cook has been making the same simple meal for many years – it is...time to offer something different and more exciting.
